Bucktown Kickback remains a potent force on the independent music scene in America today, not only because of its strong foundation but also the support and commitment of those determined to continue a musical journey that began years ago. Described more recently as a type of collective, Bucktown Kickback was forged in the foothills of Appalachia and the rich Bluegrass landscape of the Ohio River Valley in 2002 by creator, band leader and head songwriter Adam Brooks Dudding. Quickly becoming the Alt-Bluegrass/Roots Rock darlings of the region by earning respect from appreciative fans hungry for honest, hard driving, acoustic-based original music, Bucktown Kickback keeps electrifying listeners with their live performances and three studio recordings, continuing to add new collaborators to their (r)evolving roster of extremely talented musicians, songwriters and artists.
Shortly after releasing their highly acclaimed debut album SPEAKEASY (2005 Whirled Werks Music) which saw heavy rotation on AAA, Independent and College Radio stations throughout the U.S. and abroad landing at 1 on the Roots Report – Folk Top 50 charts, 6 on the Roots Report – Roots Top 100, 33 on Root Report Internet Airplay Chart as well as reaching 58 on the Americana Music Association's Radio Airplay Charts (out of 700), Dudding followed the flow of creative energy southward to Nashville, TN where, since 2006, he's lived and set up BTKB's base of operations for the band's last two releases and promotional tours. Performing in over 20 U.S. States throughout the Southeast and Midwest including music hubs like New York City, Chicago, IL, Nashville, TN, and Austin, TX, Dudding and his band continue to win over live music fans and booking agents at legendary venues like the Bluebird Cafe, The Knitting Factory, Eddie's Attic, Canal St. Tavern, Newport Music Hall, Proud Larry's, Gauley River Festival, Blue Ridge BBQ Festival and Floydfest while getting wonderful opportunities to open up for Alabama, Junior Brown and Railroad Earth along the way.
