Murry Woods & Tangled Blue
Murry Woods & Tangled Blue Murry Woods started playing guitar when he was 10 years old, when bands like Led Zepplin, and Jimi Hendrix dominated the scene. While going to college in Lubbock, he played acoustic duo’s, toured with top 40 rock bands and then teamed up with Medlow Williams (aka Jr Medlow), singer for the locally-famous Cobras out of Austin. Murry was fortunate to have had the opportunity to open for such greats as Albert Collins, Delbert Mc Clinton, Roomful of Blues, Gatemouth Brown, Firefall and Christopher Cross. After graduation, Murry moved back to Austin, where he has been writing, recording and performing since. Austin was a different scenario though, so Woods decided to pursue what appears to be a concentration on the quality of his work rather than the quantity. Rather than trying to do a lot of different things in a mediocre way, he has chosen to achieve a higher personal level of gratification by doing one thing great. He has had the great opportunity of working with a lot of talented musicians and looks forward to many more years of fun in the business. Woods lives life with a smile, appreciates his family and friends and has a loyal fan base. It might not all be glory and gusto, but when done right, it can be worth even more. MURRY WOODS & TANGLED BLUE finished & released their first C.D. on Tiny Island Records in 1996 and released their second C.D. at the end of 2002. C.D. # 3 is still a work in progress. Murry Woods and Tangled Blue also includes Frank Kriege on drums, Gale Barchus on bass and Ron D’Argenio on keys.
