The Apocalypse is P-Nut's local bay area project and features the Queen of Bay Area Funk Gayle Muldrow from Sly and the Family Stone on guitar and vocals, and keyboard master Nate Ginsberg who toured with Herbie Hancock, Todd Rundgren and Graham Central Station. Playing a mix of originals and tasteful covers their live shows often turn into jam sessions with an array of all-star musicians lending a hand. Some of the recent guests include such notables as guitar guru Eric Mcfadden and Dexter Grove. P-Nut's inspired solos over danceable grooves are what the band is all about, taking the listener on a highly energetic and danceable ride with influences ranging from jazz, funk and soul to Latin and African rhythms.

In the fall 2002 P-Nut toured with Waylandsphere, an up and coming band from Raleigh, NC (see waylandsphere.com for further info). This young and vibrant band seems to have captured the powerful essence of connecting with each other and the audience to create music with energy and bliss. Their songs are all beautifully written and will stay with you long after you’ve stopped dancing at their show. They played a dozen or so heated shows including headlining the Cape Fear Music Festival in Wilmington, NC and opening for the Wailers at the Visualite Theatre in Charlotte, NC . Other highlights included shows during Nolaween at Tipitina’s with ET and Roger Lewis from the DDBB sitting in amongst many other special guests and a stealth set at the Dirty Zambi Ball at the Howlin ’ Wolf in New Orleans, which P-Nut helped orchestrate along with other luminaries such as Rev. Jeff Mosier, Ct. M’butu, Johnny Vidacovich and Chris Chew.

One of the bands that P-Nut plays with is Blackdog from Nederland, CO (see blackdog.com for further info). He recorded on their last album, For the Sake of the Groove, and is slated to record a live album with them in February of 2003. Blackdog has been leaving audiences in awe with sheer musicianship and stage presence. This is no ordinary Mountain Ensemble! Incorporating any and all musical genres from funk, to smokin' blues, to reggae and calypso ballads, sometimes all in one song! Blackdog's tenure on the music circuit has brought the band to open for or share the bill with such greats as Taj Mahal, Derek Trucks, Phish, Blues Traveler, Mick Taylor, Duke Robillard, James Cotton, and Cracker among others.

Of P-Nut's many projects, his live collaborations with Widespread Panic have inspired him the greatest. He has joined his friends on stage over thirty times since 1992 and always adds an extra sparkle to the mix. A hometown staple at Panic’s bay area shows for many years, P-nut has also been honored to play with them at some of their bigger annual shows around the nation including Red Rocks in Morrison, CO, Nolaween at UNO Lakefront Arena and Jazzfest at the Fairgrounds and Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans, LA and Oak Mountain in Pelham, AL.

P-Nut has also jammed live with several of the most exciting bands touring today, including: Gov't Mule, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Leftover Salmon, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Garaj Mahal, Blue Floyd, Wild Magnolias, The Motet, Outformation, New Monsoon, Melvin Seals, Juice, Giant People, Dexter Grove, Om Trio, Sfunk, Greyhounds, Freaktet, 56 Hope Rd., Jive, United Dope Front, Particle, The Everyone Orechstra and many more. Last summer he played both of the epic Rocky Mountain Power Jams at the Gothic Theatre which featured some of the hottest musicians around. The first one in June had him teaming up with Robert Walter, Brian Jordan, Dave Watts, Robert Randolph and Danyell Morgan. At the second in August, he and Brian Jordan returned to play with Fareed Hacque, Kai Eckhardt, DJ Logic, Efrem Towns, Terence Higgins, Michael Franti, Topaz and Radioactive to blow the roof off of the capacity filled Gothic Theatre once again.
