Namaste - "we are as one"
Celebrating over a decade of making music, Namasté has become a staple of the Southern Indiana music scene. We have played many of the great venues throughout the Midwest as well as many regional festivals which have let us share the stage with fantastic artists like Shadyside Allstars, Shaggy Wonda, Chester Brown, Spare Parts, Vince Welnick,Los Lobos...the list goes on.
History-
In 2000 Namaste started as a four piece, building a following through grassroots publicity and weekly gigs. Catalyst, Namaste's first full length album, was recorded in 2001 by Brick Briscoe at the Pillbox Studio, and the band began to schedule gigs out of town. A serious accident involving flipping the van and trailer full of gear shook the band enough to put traveling on hiatus. Late in 2003, percussionist dene Stephens joined the band and traveling resumed. Homecoming Kings was recorded and produced by Namaste in 2006 and is avaibable for download from many digital distribution services (such as iTunes) and for purchase as a hard copy through C.D. Baby and certain regional retailers.
Today we have gathered a fantastic collective of musicians which includes: Stephen Horning (guitar/vocals/keys/computer), Eric Gettings (bass), Tim Mitchell (drums), Zach Slingerland (guitar, drums), Jordan Green (guitar), and Dene Stephens (percussion). With the addition of new gear and new perspectives on music, things are in a constant state of evolution now.
Love to all our supporters.
