Since the 1970’s Heartsfield has seemingly been on the road bringing their brand of southern rock to the masses. 9 albums, over 2 million records sold, and stints on major labels, Mercury and Columbia Records, is nothing to shake a stick at. Needless to say, Heartsfield has more than enough experience and a solid enough fan base to be one of those bands that just plays the same old tired songs year in and year out but never really gives people new tunes. Thank God they aren’t one of those bands. Their latest album, “Disrupting The Country” is their 10th overall and features 13 tracks, 12 written by prolific front man Perry Jordan. With an Alabama like harmony vocal you are tossed into the album with the catchy, sing-a-long, “Pain in The Cash,” which is quickly going to become an anthem for any guy who has a girl in his life that spends a majority of her time shopping. It doesn’t take long for you to quickly realize that this is going to be a good album. Jordan spits out a rough around the edges vocal throughout that will quickly have you ordering up a PBR while the guitars rock along the way that a good southern rock tinged bands should. For the most part this album brings the southern rock sound of the 70’s to the forefront in that you will get songs that are completely chalked full of catchy guitars, thumping beats, and vocals that you can’t help but sing-a-long with and at times they mix in a little bit of a bluesy feel with it. Heartsfield has successfully kept their sound in tact, but has been smart enough to evolve with the times and modernize it as well. This is a nice addition to any collection of music that includes southern rock from the 70’s era as well as the modern country that states those bands as their influences.
