Cara Kelly & the Tell Tale
Cara Kelly & the Tell Tale Some may recognize Cara Kelly as a former vocalist for Baltimore's funk band, Old Man Brown. In mid 2012, she decided to take the lead and go her own way. Together with her brother Tony Kelly on piano and organ, the two joined forces with instrumental powerhouse, Mike Castellano (lead guitar) to form The Tell Tale. Upon its inception, the band has been receiving very positive feedback from their energetic live shows and tight musicianship. They added bass player Josh Dunevant to the line-up in late 2012 when their former bass player relocated to California. But it wasn't until mid 2013, that the band really started to find their sound with the addition of long time friends and musicians, Tim Nodar (guitar and vocals) and Anand Wiswanathan (drums) both formally of the band, Three Fifths. Lead with the fierce intensity of Kelly's vocals yet a deliberate and sensitive layering of instrumentation and harmony, Cara Kelly & the Tell Tale delivers a version of rootsy, soulful, rock and roll that is all their own with just a twist of psychedelic. They released an EP titled, The Unexpected in May 2013 and are looking to start recording a full length in late 2013.
