JDub Records is happy to announce the
release of Balkan Beat Box's first remix album, Nu Made, a dynamic take on BBB's wildly
successful catalogue. This eclectic collection will be released nationwide on CD and vinyl on April 7th,
2009.
Continuing their quest for a boundary-smashing party, Balkan Beat Box shakes up their
intoxicating mix of Gypsy, Jewish, Arabic, and Mediterranean rhythms with a remix album for the dancefloor.
Nu Made takes BBB's "syncopated pulse, intoxicating melodies and Semitic harmonies...lifted from
ancient traditions" (Washington Post) and fearlessly rearranges them into irresistibly danceable cuts. Nu
Made includes remixes of BBB favorites like "Hermetico", "Habibi Min Zaman" and
"Digital Monkey."
The album features remixes by Turntables on the Hudson founder Nickodemus, Dub Gabriel,
JDub labelmates Soulico, the iMeem/Ableton Live BBB remix contest winners and Balkan Beat Box themselves along
with a previously unreleased track, Ramallah Tel Aviv featuring Palestinian MC Saz.

JDub is equally excited
about The Sway Machinery and their JDub debut, Hidden Melodies Reveled will be released
nationwide on CD and Vinyl on April 7th, 2009. The Sway Machinery is an all-star collective of innovative
visionaries lead by guitarist Jeremiah Lockwood of Balkan Beat Box.
The Sway Machinery also includes Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
on drums, Stuart Bogie and Jordan McLean of the Antibalas horn section on tenor
saxophone and trumpet respectively, and touring member of Arcade Fire Colin Stetson on bass
saxophone.
Recorded in Arcade Fire's private studio, Le Petite Aglise in Montreal, the
record is a unique celebration of the ritualistic and archaic. Sway Machinery layers the haunting notes of
Cantorial-influenced vocals over the energetic, celebratory rhythms of afro-pop, hard- hitting drums and the
blues. Hidden Melodies Revealed showcases pieces based on text taken directly from the Jewish prayers and
reconfigures them in a startlingly new musical landscape.
