Jack Johnson Announces U.S. Leg of World Tour
Launches new All At Once Community while new album Sleep Through the Static enters 3rd week at Number One

Jack Johnson
Jack Johnson, the Hawaiian- born musician, filmmaker and surfer announced today the U.S. leg of his World Tour in support of his worldwide #1 record, Sleep Through the Static. With 23 dates already confirmed in the U.S. and Canada, this tour is one of the most highly anticipated tours of the summer. Tickets for most shows will be available through all Ticketmaster outlets and via www.jackjohnsonmusic.com starting March 15. Jack will be supported by several artists, varying by city, including Rogue Wave, Mason Jennings, Neil Halsted, Money Mark, and Culver City Dub Collective featuring Paula Fuga.

Sleep Through the Static, released by Brushfire Records, sold an impressive 374,000 albums in its first week. This number includes 139,000 digital copies sold through iTunes, more week-one sales than any other record in history. The album debuted at #1 in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland and Singapore and on Japan’s International Chart. And in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, The Netherlands, Sweden, and Taiwan, the album debuted in the Top 5.

In the three years since In Between Dreams was released, Jack has been spending time with his family and focusing on the Kokua Hawaii Foundation and its annual benefit concert, the Kokua Festival. The Foundation, headed by Johnson and his wife, focuses on recycling programs and environmental education in Hawaii's schools. All at Once—Green Global Tour

Jack Johnson and his crew are passionately committed to greening every aspect of this tour in order to minimize environmental impact. Actions taken include fueling tour vehicles with biodiesel, offering eco-friendly tour merchandise and working with venues to reduce waste, recycle and offset carbon emissions.

In addition, Jack Johnson is launching All At Once in partnership with non-profits worldwide. This dynamic new interactive community empowers fans to take action toward a healthier community and planet—based on the concept that individual action, multiplied by millions, creates global change.

The All At Once campaign can be experienced both online at www.AllAtOnce.org and at the Village Green, a focal point of every Jack Johnson concert. Online, fans can become a member of the community, get free downloads, learn how to reduce their environmental impact by carpooling to concerts, reducing plastic use and volunteering. The interactive Village Green is the website brought to life. It educates and activates fans to take action while offering the opportunity to connect personally with local, national, and international non-profits. All donations made by fans to these organizations online or at the concerts will be matched by Jack Johnson’s charity, the Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation (up to $2,500 per organization).

“I can’t think of a better reason to put on a concert than to bring people together to create positive change,” said Jack Johnson. “With this year’s tour we are bringing together all of our resourcesAll At Once to give back to each community that we visit.”

The Jack Johnson tour is collaborating with hand-chosen community groups around the world. The following national nonprofit groups will be involved in all of the US concerts. For a complete list of all local community groups visit www.AllAtOnce.org:

Climate Counts www.climatecounts.org
Surfrider’s Rise Above Plastics www.surfrider.org
Vote the Environment www.votetheenvironment.org
HeadCount www.headcount.org
1% For The Planet www.onepercentfortheplanet.org

In addition, fans will be able to offset their carbon emissions that result from traveling to the show two ways: as an extra $.50 opt-in at the time of online ticket purchase, or via an exclusive Jack Johnson offset sticker (available at the show). Proceeds from these contributions will go to the All At Once Carbon Management Portfolio, an offset portfolio created especially for this tour by a team of climate scientists to address the two largest contributors to global warming: burning fossil fuel and deforestation.

Tickets for most shows go on sale on March 15 nationwide and can be booked through all Ticketmaster outlets www.ticketmaster.com or at www.jackjohnsonmusic.com.

Jacks not bad its the fact that hes headling almost every festival that makes me mad at him. Have him at the festivals sure, but leave him in a afternoon spot hes not headling material. Give it to someone more deserving like MMJ

wow liberals, it's like you just don't learn. i mean, how do you expect people on jambase to repond to that controversial comment. you have to just think it's funny or something to watch people freak out on you and call you names and shit.

jack's alright.

jack and dave both sucked, always have.

Doesn't matter which genre you personal preference is.

These guys are just cookie-cutter musicians, singing the same song everyday.

I guess i should say Jack is the worse of the two.

Or else frat boys are gonna start freaking out on me for insulting dave.

I have to agree with liberals on this one, Jack is an actual talented musician, Jam "kids" can be so stuck up some time. Remember the art of song writing? Jacks not trying to be the next moe, or string cheese or keller. No disrespect to those bands, but listen to Jacks Rhythms and lyrics, you can't argue with that. His lyrics are far more meaningful and moving than anything written by 90% of the "Jammers" out there. At Bonnaroo 04 I felt the best show was the dead, by far. But at 05, Jacks show had the best vibe, and music. And YES Jack is headliner material. As for the comparison to Dave Mathews, I don't see the similarities, other than the fact that they both have a following of annoying sorority girls. While im on this lame rant, one more thing: How do comments that are blatant spam (such as Navins above) get past the people that are supposed to be filtering this stuff? Well, as Jack says, "it's all relative"

SOOOOOO many decisions to make before hitting this tour.....Do I go with a popped Polo collar or do I rock a fake vintage T pulled over a button-down? Axe or Drakkar? Gel or mousse? And do I throw my Greek letters visor to the front, to the back, or "oh so slyly" to 2:00? The simplest fashion mistake could possibly ruin my chances of taking part in the lot-scene reindeer games of cornhole, ladder golf and beer bonging. And THAT would be a HUGE bummer, dude.

One can only assume that by the age of 30 most UM fans will have depleted their stockpile of brain cells, and thus, NO ONE will remember UM. In fact, I've been on the music scene most of my life, and can't remember the last person that I met that even owned an UM album. So, when you say that they will be more remembered, I must assume that you mean it will be remembered by your small group of d r u g addled friends. Jack puts out good music, sees past the glitz and glam that most bands are so wrapped up in, does well for the environment, has made multiple movies, best selling albums, was the youngest person ever to make it to the hawaiian surf finals (at the age of 18), and still manages to be a good father and husband. But I'm sure that what's his face, from that one band who's name I can't remember, will be more remembered than Jack. You're probably right.

comparing jack to UM and moe. is like talking about allmans or the dead and joni mitchell and cat stevens...sure they all intermingle and cross over at festivals and whatnot, but they make different music, albeit all of it good music, for different tastes. jack is a good lookin guy, a surfer, and sings about love -- obviously girls are going to go wild for him unfortunately. most jam bands are bearded/mustached long haired wild men rocking out for hours and that appeals to the dudes.

im a patagonia-wearing bro with a care for the environment and i like to kickback and relax with a spliff to some jack johnson, his live covers of marley are awesome in concert--cant wait for this tour. i only wish the openers were better....GLove, donavonF, ALO, or matt costa wouldve been nice!

Amazing. Such nonsense. Why do people bother to knock a certain musician? What one person thinks is amazing music another might think it is crap. so be it. We all hear music as individuals. To associate a certain musician with the type of peope who go to see them is ridiculious. Do you really think Jack waes up and says, man I hope all the frat boys and sorrority girls show today. I have been to many shows since the late 80's - Grateful Dead, Neil Young, CSN, Pink Floyd, Allmans, Dave Matthews, Phish, etc, etc, etc....You will see all types of people at ech one of those shows. Do you think only veggie eat'n birk wearing, lsd dropping stoners were at dead shows? I laugh at the fact tht some consider Dave Matthews or Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, ALO joke musicians while they jump up and down about musicians like MOE, and UM, Disco, tea leaf, keller etc. They are all good in the own way, but for christ sake change it up a bit. I remember Moe back in the mid 90's....I think they are still playing the same clubs if not smaller ones. Lets not knock a certain musican because you can't stand some of the people who are at the shows. BTW - Dave Matthews will be remembered as a musician who influenced a generation after him. He will be remembered as a musician who brought the acoustic guitar and true meaningful lyrics to the forefront.
