From www.xavierrudd.com:

Xavier Rudd has inked an exclusive worldwide licensing deal with Foundations/Universal Records, and will release his Solace CD in the US on June 7th. Xavier will be also embark on a summer tour of the States beginning in Boston on June 3rd and running through the end of summer, including stops at the 2005 Bonnaroo Festival on June 10th and 11th.

Xavier is a unique multi-instrumentalist solo artist whose songs balance acoustic soul, manic fretwork, rhythmic stomps, percussion and modernized didgeridoo to create an inspiring sound and mesmerizing live performance.

A dual citizen of Australia and Canada, Xavier splits his time between his coastal homes on the Southern Victoria coast of Australia and the West coast of Canada, surrounding himself with the natural beauty of both for inspiration. Currently touring in support of Solace, the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut To Let, Xavier's popularity is rapidly soaring as word spreads of his beautiful music and gripping live performances that last up to two and a half hours.

Solace was produced in the warmth of a home studio in Vancouver by Xavier and Producer/friend Todd Simko (Pure). Each track was recorded as an intimate live performance, allowing Solace to capture the emotion and energy of his live show. The album was then mastered at 'The Mastering Lab' in Hollywood by Grammy award winner Gavin Lurssen, who not only won the first Mastering Grammy for his work on O Brother, Where Art Thou?, but is also behind such greats as Tom Waits, Ben Harper, and T Bone Burnett.

Anchored by hit singles "Let Me Be" and "Shelter," Solace has been certified Platinum sales status in Australia, earning him two Australian Music Award nominations.

Hailing from Torquay on the Southern Victorian coast in Australia, 26-year-old Xavier delivers a unique and harmonious combination of lyrics, vocals, instruments and energy that is warm, powerful and emotive. As he begins one is immediately drawn in to the warmth of his sound. His bare feet work the rhythm on the stomp box as he glides his Weissenborn guitar though fluid melodies. Effortlessly switching between and tying in a myriad of instruments including 12 string acoustic/electric guitars, banjos, didgeridoos, slit/Aztec drums, and the Djembe, Xavier weaves a truly unique performance that lifts the spirit and captivates the imagination.

Xavier's talents have caught the attention and admiration of many fellow artists. Over the last two years, Xavier has been invited to share the stage with the likes of Ani Difranco, Michael Franti, String Cheese Incident, Moe, G. Love, and Jack Johnson – and this summer will be touring with Gov't Mule, Robert Randolph, and The Zooma Tour (Trey Anastasio, Jurassic 5, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals).

In addition to sharing the stage with the aforementioned artists, they also share similar passions. An avid surfer and social activist, off stage Xavier can be found sharing the waves and music with Jack Johnson or creating politically conscious tunes with Michael Franti.

Don't miss the chance to see this guy live, he is awsome. I caught him in New Orleans and the show was amazing.
