DRUM-AND-BASS CLASSIC REVAMPED

Universal Records in the U.S. is set to release the 10th anniversary edition of Roni Size & Reprazent's New Forms in April 2009. Originally released in the U.K. in 2007 by Universal, New Forms 2 will be available domestically for the first time to coincide with the band's rare Stateside live appearances at 103 Harriet Street in S.F and this year's Ultra Music Festival and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Released in 1997, New Forms was a benchmark album that surpassed any previous drum n' bass efforts, bringing the genre to a whole new audience. The release catapulted its creators to win the prestigious Mercury Music Prize that same year. To mark the anniversary of this groundbreaking album, Roni Size returned to re-edit New Forms.
"The first generation of heads who were there with the rise of Reprazent & Roni Size will be able to reminisce over the last decade with the classics 'Brown Paper Bag,' 'Share The Fall' and 'Heroes.' The generation of those who missed it will be able to appreciate the album with the new coat of armor I have added to the original tracks. I think fans of the original album always appreciated what we did with the technology of the day. This latest version shows with is possible now," says Roni Size
There are several new tracks on the re-edit including the incredible single "Don't Hold Back," which manages to not only sound like a perfect bedfellow for the original thirteen tracks on New Forms but is also thoroughly contemporary.
