LANGERADO SCHEDULE

The Langerado Music Festival schedule has arrived! JamBase has created LangeradoBase for you to manage your music schedule at the festival. Go to LangeradoBase, click on "Customize Your Schedule" and you'll be on top of your game! Trey or STS9? My Morning Jacket or The Disco Biscuits? Or maybe a little of everything! It's all up to YOU!

In other Langerado news, Matisyahu, who will be performing at the fest on Sunday, March 11, will be joining campers early to celebrate Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. While the last thing anyone may want to do at Langerado is rest, the essence of Shabbat can be a very rewarding experience for both Jews and non-Jews. Matisyahu and friends will be setting up Shabbat services, meals, and parties throughout the weekend. All activities are open to everyone and anyone!

I'll tell you what sucks. It's the fact that My Morning Jacket was added to the bill. While they are a great band, they stole a headlining spot from moe. and moe. makes a much better fit to headline Saturday. Instead, the greatest band at the festival gets a measly hour and a half slot on Friday. Weak sauce.

STOKED. Friday is awesome ... well damn, they're all awesome. This is one of the best schedules I've had to deal with ... as far as the overlapping band stress. WHOOHOO. Can't freakin' wait.

Yeah agreed, moe. headline would have been great.

the trey\sts9 split and the bela\moe,galactic split is pretty rough. in fact, the intense concentration of amazing bands on friday is kind of rough, they should have spread some of the bands playing friday across the weekend or, I should say, that would have been my personal preference, o well. Should be awesome, see ya'll down there.

drunkenmaster- moe. is playing Myrtle Beach Saturday night so they were never an option to headline Saturday. But who cares, Bisco is playing the Swamp Tent Saturday night-the perfect Saturday headliner. Bisco in the Swamp Tent was the highlight of the festival last year. No worries about that decision. The Trey/STS9 conflict is going to be a tough call though, Thursday late night and Friday.

I started seeing Phish in `96 and Moe. in `97 but on Friday I'm choosing to skip most of Trey and Moe. and It was not a hard choice. STS9 is on fire right now their late-nite Vegoose show blew me away. Moe. I'm skipping because I'm a huge Pavement fan and do not want to miss Steve Malkmus. On Sat. again I have to skip a band I love - Bisco, why? because based on the reviews I read about MMJ's NYE show I want to see what their all about and I have a feeling I'll end up sticking around. Finally on Sun. While I plan to catch as much Panic as I can I'm definitely going to start at Explosions in the Sky & walk over to The New Pornographers for at least a few songs. The other acts I'm most excited for are: Blackalicious, P-Groove, Los Lobos & The Greyboy Allstars. There are many other bands I would list but I never expect to arrive before 4pm so why even pretend.

worst schedule ever...trey vs. STS9...Moe vs. malkmus...bisco vs. MMJ...WSP vs. explosions/girl talk/new porno...i mean come on, all the good bands are overlapping...why dont they play some quality bands during OAR? honestly, if i would've seen this schedule before buying my ticket I would probably have passed on it. this makes bonnaroo's overlapping look like nothing. i'll see MMW over moe. anyday, but i wouldnt've minded seeing at least a few songs of moe...o well, idiot langerado organizers. stupid stupid stupid.

Good point, Pabst, for those who haven't been, you can litterally walk from one stage to another in about two minutes and without having to fight through any crowd. And if your really that torn I suggest always choosing a band your less familiar with over one you're already into, if they don't grab you then walk back over to the other stage. I couldn't be more excited and I love this schedual because you can find out so much about a persons out-look on music just by how they react to it.

Not a bad schedule. There's going to be bands I want to see playing pretty much all day every day and they're nicely distibuted. To those who are pissed about the Trey/STS9 conflict, you might not have to worry if ol' Ernest goes to jail.

My only beef is the Franti/MMW/Blackalicious conflict. I'm gonna have to duck out of MMW early (I've never seen Franti), and I won't get to see hardly any Blackalicious at all... no good.

There are some tough decisions. I think I'm going to choose Stephen Malkmus over moe. Malkmus was great at Bonnaroo 2006, and he'll likely be playing some new material. I also don't think I'll watch all of Widespread's set. I may run back and forth between Widespread, Girl Talk and the New Pornographers.

People are indeed clueless in SoFL. Thats why most will be in bed before the end of the day, to beat the traffic. I am sure the headliner shows will be empty because of this.

Also, it is usually in the low 20's at night so bring your PJs. Oh yeah and this is the worst schedule ever too. Who the hell wants to have to walk 100 yds. to have to see Galactic and Bela Fleck in the same afternoon? Bullshit.

This festival is about a few key things, namely, Florida sun, Widespread Panic, and Jimmy Herring.
PS Assembly of Dust is perhaps one of my favorite bands these days and their afternoon festival sets are the perfect thing to start off a day. Grab a cold beer and catch this Vermont band's early set. if u like the old strangefolk stuff you'll love these guys. Same old Reid lyrics and great voice, plus a Percy Hill keys man alum Nate Wilson - real jazzy. Adam Tirell is filthy too, used to play with Grooveatron. See you down there.

this was my absolute worst nightmare. Lotus, TLF, NM, Galactic, Bela.... all on the first day, within the first 4 and a half hours... completely bogus. Sunday's schedule is terrible, besides Toots, there isnt even really one band that i wanna see play. I do not like Widespread, as i feel their fans flood the scene with close minded negativity. STS9 over Trey, any day of the week, but Trey over Widespread every day of the week. Looks like ill be drinking as many heady beers as possible sunday in order to TRY and have fun for WP... may even have to leave early. But, a festi is a festi, and ill be there, and i cant wait, just wish some more bands of my style were on sunday and that someone else played during Widespread.

all in all, 1 star is rewarded, because of Sundays lineup. I'm real disappointed that i dont even have a conflict to be mad about for Sunday's lineup, there's nothing!

Anyoine bitching about this fest ie completely fricknig NUTSO, and a true DUMBF-CK!!!!

lets see 1st day
TLG, New Monsoon, Galactic, Trey, Moe, NMA, Bela, STSS9

- This is worth the price of admission for 3 days alone. And STS9 the best band in the world? Give me a break. Are you guys so in love with the drum machine?? It takes a lot of talent to start a drum machine huh? Over Trey - haha get real!! Moe is the best Jamband in the world. Galactic is SICK!!! finished Jam Cruise first 3 years. Bela / Wooten - just amazing, Luther Diskson / NMA - wow and Trey is a true superstar

2nd day - Jake Shimabukuro amazing, Soulive / Krasno just incredible, Greyboy Allstars - Denson, Walters probably should be headlining this day. Franti Spearhead = wow. Bisco, P Groove, MMJ, MMW, Toubab, Mofro - all you can say is saweeeeeeeeeeeeeet

3rd day - Toots and Maytals - prob one of top 3 Reggae acts of all time. Bew Orleans Social Club - yes George Porter Matters. Taj Mahal = Blues Legend. Los Lobos - classic hispanic music, Matis, OAR on and on - just awesome and finally PANIC in da HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyone bitching- please shut the f-ck up, do not come to this fest, get off JAMbase (this should be for jam bands - not alternative rock stage diving, mosh pit puking, aggressive 6 years olds, like those bitching about this fest. My Morning Jacket puts on the best show in rock n' roll, hands down. If you've never seen them, do yourself a favor. And to whoever asked if they were a jamband, as if they shouldn't be allowed at this festival if they aren't, just take a look at the rest of the lineup. Cat Power, Taj Mahal, Stephen Malkmus, Toots and the Maytals-- these are not jambands but artists I and many others are extra stoked to see. Go eat some X and trip out to Bisco (actually a pretty good band but most of their fans are a bunch of candy-flippin' posers). Long live rock n' roll! Long live Jim James!

yeah the schedule is def out of synch.... i guess if you put all the heavyweights against the middleweights, then hardly anybody would see the middleweights.... i never understood multistage events in the first place.... a second stage is cool so you can go from one band to another on a second stage and then back to the other...etc... the overlapping of any bands is kind of dumb and until hippies get control back from the promoters we are victims of their greed to try and slam as many bands on a bill to sell as many tickets for as much money as they can.... had this been a caveman event (hehehe they were the best weren't they?) i woulda had like 3-4 of the "made" bands a night.... in between changing gear on the main stage i would give up and coming bands or local florida bands (Safari, Crazy Fingers, Grass is Dead etc) the shorter intermission spots.... this would of made too much sense though i guess...10 pm music curfew is kind of lame also...11pm should be the earliest this should be ending... note to all those who still use and consume... FLORIDA is one of the worst places to try and transport anything that may be considered illegal... there should also be ALOT of undercovers in the crowd... so if you must do that, please do it safely....

Couch potatoes of the world, unite and take over. Multiple stages give people options to see different bands, and keeps the crowds manageable. Believe it or not, some people including me have no interest in seeing the Biscuits or STS9, so if I was stuck with them as solo headliners I would be dissapointed.

It does requires moving one's sedentary ass a few hundred yards every few hours, but IMO thats what a fest is all about. I have been to plenty of 1 stage/no overlapping fests and while they didn't exactly suck, I always loved the option of bouncing around stages and seeing sometimes 3 bands in a 90 period.

The thing that sucks the most is that the bands end at 10pm! Sure, you can dish out more money for the late night show, then even more money for the bus to take you there, then more money for drinks because I'm sure you can't take a cooler there. What a capitalistic event. Who really pulls the fishing wire? People bite the bait hook, line and sinker.

no tickets in the mail here yet.... i wanted to see morning jacket...heard alot of good things about them.... so of course they are scheduled against bisco.... maybe get to catch morning jacket them at some other festy, where anybody would realize that makes absolutely no sense...trey vs s9... come on schedulers...you are killing our buzz big time!...maybe i should just sell my tickets on ebay...have late nights with trey and bisco also.... any takers?... 1 bisco late night but 2 treys and 1 .. 3 day non camping ticket...no re entry is also lame.... at least wsp doesnt have to compete too hard for the crowd....i agree though if the schedule was released sooner, i definetly would not have ordered tickets and made flight arrnagements to go...is the old bait and switch game....come listen to all these bands...oops no you can't because we scheduled 4 of your favorites against each other... should be a law against this type of false advertizing

There should be a law that says that everyone on jambase should be able to create their own schedule for every fest, and all of the bands will play multiple shows at multiple times so no one misses their faves. Especially not kids from the NE who buy plane tickets ahead of time.

I can't believe people would complain about multiple stages. As a veteran of HIGH SIERRA and Jazzfest, I can tell you that half the fun is wandering around from stage to stage and seeing what u can discover. It really brings out the inner child in you. Multiple stages are great for people like me who can't stand techno/trance/house/repetitive nonsense. Thank god I won't be forced to listen to all that crap. Life is about choices people!
Secondly, I can't believe people would plan out each and every band they are going to see. This squeezes the entire thrill out of it. Would you go to Jazzfest and plan out each and every step you take....surely you would miss out on a ton of good music that you just aren't familiar with! I got turned on to some of my favorite bands by sheer coincidence!
It's about the choices. Whatever mood your in...u can move towards that stage!

2005 L'roo had the BEST stage set up EVER. 2006 was not bad, and this looks like a hybrid of the last 2 years. I can't wait for a map, but the schedule looks well timed, not much mid-day overlap and subsequent sound bleediage. If you're sweating Trey vs. ST9 or MMJ vs Bisco, SO BE IT!! A GREAT festival is always judged but what you HAD to miss, in order to see what you HAD to see. Me, I have to be at TAB and Bisco, no question.

One more thing, 10:00 PM cutoff, seriously folks- YIPPIE.

This ain't B'roo, but thats paradise. Jazzfest is 7:00, so BRING ON THE NIGHT, with the bonus late indoor night shows too boot! Time change will kick in for WP, daylight until 8:00 even 8:30 me thinks

Jazzfest has clubs rocking it until the next day for little or no cover. All the bands put it out for the crowds all night. It is amazing in it's own right. Camp Bisco rocked this year with an indoor lodge and entertainment until atleast 4 am. And I can go on about music festivals that really keep the party going in more ways than one.

CAMP BISCO is the premiere summer festy!...now would biscuits schedule themselves against mmj?... or would mmj schedule themselves against Bisco?.... point proven!....multiple satges with overlapping bands is lame... unless you are looking at 2 different type bands like say tool vs wsp or the police vs moe

music ending at 10 doesnt really make me too happy, however, i believe this'll give more time for making new friends/drum circles/dance parties, some of the things that you may miss out on when a festi rages until sunrise.

been to the all night fests a few times, i am almost looking forward to being able to socialize with people from all over the country at such an early time. kick back, listen to some good tunes with em, and drink some heady beers with em, the best friendships form over a night of being silly drunk. with this being so early it the festi season, im hopin to collaborate with people on some later summer plans... anyone feel me?

Is my morning jacket even a jamband?

1.are they even a real band, are simply a pop music market trend?
2.When did all the good music that is made currently simply become labeled "jam band"?- I hate that term.... yes the inherent contradiction, after all this is jambase.
3.Are we now going to re-write history and find Dizzy Gilespe, Bird, Miles, The Jazz Messengers, Sonny Rollins, Bruebeck, Cannonball, ect. ect. under a sign labeled "jam bands" ?
After a gig a jazz writer(or jass for those "that resemble your roots") asked Dizz,"What was that?"(refering to the extended solos and modal scale based melodic compositions)

Dizzy(thinging the writer meant the last tune in that set) replied," BE-BOP ".
When printed the writers review dubbed this new approach to jazz as a sub-genre...BEBOP. "Simbop and Beaphones, Skyballs and Sacksrappers" I dont care if anyone is a jamband... I care that they care about their "music" enough to actually make MUSIC. People forget music is a language.
From BABY SNAKES (Zappa Movie) in refrence to "crazy New York fans" - a true fan says," People forget that their's notes involved."
The afore mentioned questional "jam band" is at worst a corporate image driven product placement; at best a sub-par production dependent "Rock 'N Roll/Pop-Punk band".

In the "IMORTALS" (2 part series featuring 100 artists) issue #2 of Rolling Stone, Trey speaks about Zappa... something along the lines of "I'm working on a new solo album and my producer and I were talking about how people these days don't even have to know how to play there instruments, because of things like PRO TOOLS. Zappa's approach was pick and instrument learn it's range and write."

Today imagery is more important that musicianship, songwritting, arrangements/composition ( and for whom ever I read on a differnt post concerning STS9 that said something like," If STS9 is so good why can't they come up with lyrics for their songs." FIRST- the word song implies lyrical melody. SECOND- that would make STS9's music composition/or arrangements, not song: so when talking out of your ass, at least have respect and febreeze that shit. ) *reprise topic at hand- and selling sex and/or drugs indirectly.

Marc, the only combative method of elimating the afore mentioned band, I've found is simply not acknowledging them period : especially as a band, implying that they are reaching a level of acceptance of in the "Industry" because of musicial merits.
For those of you whom aren't versed in music compsition/arrangement/songwritting/live-reproduction(the guys that sit at the boards w/all those knobs and faders that make sure at shows and fests that everyone isnt huddled around the stage simply to hear and be involved in that moment)/Engineering/Tracking/Post-Production ( typically final mastering to CD format audio(refered to as Red-Book)16bit @ 44,100 samples per sec.
A lot goes into helping the musicians get their music heard.
The point is that with digital technology, you could take a single half sec recording of a fart and with virtual instruments and/or digital out board gear[Celemony Melodine-VI-plugin for music production software: Antares Vocal Pitch corrector (yeah im calling you out Brittney Spears, Madonna, Beoynece, a series of ect.s that SONY/BMG that probably love to bring about a deffimation a character law suit if mention enough.) Marc, I guess what im getting at is if your walking to Bisco if you have someone ask you and a friend "where is (the afore mentioned band) playing?"
A reply like "where is who playing???" and possibly have a friend chime in with " They brought keith moon back from the dead and gave Pete his ears back. Fuck this Disco Biscuits... lets go so The Who." then ask the someone if he knows which stage The Who is playing on. This should leave this someone's logical complex or lack there of probably in his case, completely disorented.... with all hope the afore mentioned "band" and any "music lovers" will confuse the nearest water way for the stage and thats that.
As for the line up .... Langerado vs Bonerzoo '07 : no offense AC Entertainment love you guys for bring all this great music through the south east in particular Knoxville( YMSB, Moe., UM, STS9, ect.) Langerado hands down. As for Umphreys not in attendance... Its my understanding that they simply dont dig FL.... ive lived in knoxville 19 of my 23 years of existance and 1 year outside orlando.... Ill put it this way florida is and or was good for only a number of things, Retirement-Tourtistm-(if you dont mind buying peoples broken dreams:Pawn shops have great cheap music gear)- and last but not least- Celebrating the new year and the next thousand years with an 8 hr Phish set.
*Fantasy Line-up change U-Melt takes WSP slot.
If you hate me for it cool. you dont have to worry about me drinking a bud light diging a spread set. Howser passed those of you who really dig WSP should agree that its not the same without him. They should bow out gracefully like SCI of course then theyd end up on the 'Roo line-up w/ a second slot(which u assuradely with not find me at unless you pay for ticket and drag my dead body into the gates).
WITH THAT OFF MY CHEST- NAVIGATE LANGERADO AND A FUN, SAFE TIME SHOULD BE HAD BY ALL.

arrondwolf,
MMJ is a "a pop music market trend"? Seriously? How did the Jacket get to be so prevalent on this site? Was it because of their beautifully laid out press packet? Their just-messy-enough hairdos? Their super hot video on MTV? No. It's because they fucking rock and that's all their is to it. Why don't you just look at this and last year's year-end reviews. What band is talked about more than any others? MMJ. Why? Because they make great albums and put on an amazing, high-energy, soul-satisfying live show. And that's what this website is all about. Believe me, these boys know how to play their instruments. Also, if you are implying that James uses some sort of pitch correcter to get his haunting, skin-tingling vocals, he does not. It's called reverb and I don't know if there has ever been a band to use it better. To get that signauture sound on It Still Moves, James recorded all of his vocals inside and empty grain silo. I'd like to see that on a Bisco album, or do they even make albums? Whatever, I can't even believe I'm responding to this sort of ignorance.
And to have so many quotes from and about Zappa when supporting someone extolling the virtues of improvisation is a bit ironic. Zappa made sure that every single note of his shows was played as he wrote it, going so far as to forbid his band members from taking any drugs, including pot. I believe marcsmall1 gives you too much credit. Burroughs at least knew how to punctuate and make complete sentences.

i am still not sure why promoters can advertize that 20 bands are playing but then have 3 stages...so technically you can only physically listen to 10 of them...that is why multiple stages is a rip off to us the consumer and people who throw down hard earned cash to get gipped by trying to overinflate a line up, but no possible way to enjoy all the bands.... mmj vs bisco is a no brainer... i listened to mmj online and seem like a very good band...but not very original...what they play has been done....whereas the biscuits have a new sound and really do step away from the pack with bringing something new and original to the whole music scene

Why would you say you listened to a band only once online and then give your opinion on them? It makes your assertion completely baseless. Maybe give them another chance... maybe listen to another album. MMJ has a diverse sound and vibe from album to album, so while you may not dig one, you might another. See my post above regarding the MMW/Bisco debate.

Also, Mr. caveman, that was quite a feat of mathematics there "i am still not sure why promoters can advertize that 20 bands are playing but then have 3 stages...so technically you can only physically listen to 10 of them"

First of all 20/3 is not 10. Secondly, there are 30 bands. Third, they don't have 3 bands playing at exactly the same time. Fourthly, you can actually in a strictly "physically" speaking sense listen to all 30 if you "physically" walk from stage A to stage B to stage C.

Stay in school. For the sake of the future of the planet. Please. Stay in school.
