Matt Butler - Everyone Orchestra
By Natural Elements Photography
Everyone Orchestra will bring their infectiously entertaining brand of improvisational jams to the Southeast next month. The shows will feature group founder and conductor Matt Butler, as well as Steve Kimock, Jeff Coffin, Jeff Sipe, and soulful chanteuse Tanya Shylock.

The impetus for this tour evolved out of Everyone Orchestra's performance at Smilefest XII in June where Butler, Coffin, Sipe and Shylock were part of the cast which also included experimental guitar legend Adrian Belew, Darol Anger, Jimmy Herring and many more.

EO shows consistently focus on musical juxtaposition and the expansion of experiential boundaries, but as many attest, the most intriguing aspect of Everyone Orchestra performances is their elimination of the "fourth wall," encouraging and demanding a melding of audience members and performers.

In addition to the musical experience, each EO appearance will include live, on-stage painting by artists whose works will be auctioned to support the efforts of environmental advocacy group Rock the Earth. Working closely with the music industry and its fans, many of whom are concerned with the fate of public lands, air and water, Rock the Earth acts to ensure the existence of a sustainable and healthy environment.

Kimock brings unbelievable heat. I just hope they can pick up some cool bluegrass buddies to join in for the Asheville show, and (fingers crossed) Tom Constanten could be a HUGE add in Charlotte. But seeing Kimock, Sipe and Coffin together would make it worth the ticket on their own.

And Brock Butler in the Classic City????? Fuggetaboutit. That'll be nuts.

Just double checked. Constanten is free after Feb. 17.

Could it happen in Charlotte?

The Everyone Orchestra will be playing in Lawrence, KS at Wakarusa Music Festival in mid June. Other than that, they might annonce some more shows soon...

Paleeeese!!!!! people of the sw ur hurting if you think this will cure the no jer blues. Anyway HOW do you Orchestrate Improvisation? That would be like some idiot up on stage trying to cue band and audience to intertwine, say, the master of improv and free jazz, Ornette Coleman, who was Jer bear's idol by the way. I've seen EO and it was horrible. I thought Kimock was slipping then, he's clearly fallen on his ass if he thinks this will be a career booster of any kind. WAke up Kimmy and come back to the stool and just shred it baby! and with Bobby!!!!! for christ sake.
