jerry joseph is as deep as a dixie cup full of jello.

Evil, Are you being sarcastic? What defines deep to you? If incredible songwriting, great guitar playing, and endless emotional intensity is deep, then jerry is a bottomless well.

Wow, of all the things (and there have been many) that I've heard Jerry Joseph called, shallow is not one of them. The guy has written some of the most emotional, deeply affecting songs of the past twenty years. "Ten Killer Fairies" (true story about Mexican families being slaughtered by drug lords), "Brother Michael," "Climb To Safety," "North"...

Shallow? Maybe Evilfunk was being sarcastic?

these guys are trying to do something good for a buddy in need and once again EVILFUNK has nothing but negativity to add. i wish jambase would kick your ass off here.

excuse me evilfunk i got you confused with someone else on here with a similar name, please accept my apology. but you are wrong about jerry joesph, and if you are serious about your statement this was not the forum to say it in.

Glad to see this great band getting back together, and for a good cause. Get well soon, Wally! EvilFunk, if you're not joking you'll really have to look in the mirror to see shallowness. I agree with Kayceman, there are a lot of things one can say about Jerry but shallow isn't one of them. Seriously, that's just an ignorant statement.

I don't follow every poster's personality on here so I'm willing to give ol EVILFUNK the benefit of the doubt. I'm never heard the saying "deep as a dixie cup full of jello" before so maybe I'm being nice.

SS is back. Hopefully, this isn't a one off thing but I imagine it is since Panic has a real extensive Spring Tour lined up.

The only half negative thing I can say about Jerry is that to the casual spectator... he can come off as a bit full of himself. But to those that know... that ain't the case at all.

Jerry Joesph SUCKS !!! Right on Evilfunk !!!
Most self important arrogant(acts like a star
which he never will be NO TALENT)Completely ruined
the ZERO show in Eugene in Nov.with his pathetic antics Can't even play Franklin's with the sheet
music in front of him The dude is a complete clown
total wannabe Owes WSP everything for what little he has which aint much Not qualified to carry
Eric Mcfadden's jock Hope I never hear the name ever again Jerry Joesph SUCKS and I'm not kidding
You jamband fans really need to get a life !!!

Yeah, can't imagine anyone who knows anything about it having a negative comment.Jerry is the real deal, and there is DEFINATELY depth there.
We had the pleasure of catching Stockholm a few years ago and I wish they would at least do a small tour for the REAL fans who love what they do.This is the "super-group" of the jam band scene. No hula hoops allowed!

paxe23, you are a complete idiot. For those who have never seen SS, check out the video on this site of a live song - http://www.jamcamdvd.com/video.asp.
As far as Jerry, Widespread owes HIM alot. If you knew your history AT ALL, you would know that it was Jerry and other NW musicians in the early 90's that got panic into many venues and cities in the West / NorthWest. Also, some of Panics most loved songs were written by Jerry so you are a complete fool to think he has no talent. He is a great lead guitarist and writes great songs, period.

Wally has cancer?!?!? Oh, dear.
He is definitely one of the most talented drummers to play!
I'm glad Jerry is coming back to town with this outfit.
all the players rock.
Bring it Stockholm Syndrome!

Strainger ,I question your math Jerry wrote one song "Climb to Safety' Do you call that several ?
Obviously you weren't at the Zero show so you
have no idea what you are talking about
Jerry booking the Panic ? YOU ARE THE F***ING IDIOT I I said " GET A LIFE " I'll take my own
advice and not look at jambase again because
I think spreadheads are the biggst peices of shit on earth I like jambands just HATE the fans
JERRY JOESPH SUCKS ASS !!!! I feel sorry for you
if youwould walk across the street to see him play
let alone spend your money traveling
I say again far and wide JERRY SUCKS ASS !!!!

Strainger Thu 12/21/2006 04:53PM
0 Votes Thumbs down! Thumbs up!

Wrong again. He did write Climb to Safety, Chainsaw City, which panic plays often, and also helped write Second Skin. Also, I didnt say he booked them dumbass, I said if you look at panics first dates in the NW they are playing with Jerry at venues Jerry had played for years, so they bonded and Jerry helped them get going in that area. No, I was not at Zero but it is insane to judge him on that unique appearance, playing songs they hadnt practiced. You need to see him on his own or with his band to know what he is like.
And I agree with you, you need to get off of Jambase, who needs your negativity?
Later

Paxe23, if you dont like JJ, why did you even read this article? Drop the five bucks and see jerry solo, or thee fifteen to see the jackmormons. Better yet, download the 8/26/01 show from Utah (best show by any band Ive ever seen)with kimock on lead. Karma has a funny way of coming back at you, so I hope it doesnt give YOU cancer. I'm sorry he ruined your Zero experience, but get over yourself.

I have to ask this. Why are you people so angry? By "you" I mean EVILFUNK and paxe23. It gives me a headache trying to think of what purpose you have for posting so much negativity on this site... Its sad and its so unhealthy.

Your comments ruin constructive conversation and turn this open forum (that we have provided for the users) into boring and unneeded name calling.

I'm over it...

Jerry inspires such nasty comments from people. Haha. I find it really funny. I'm not sure why it happens. He's not the greatest, but he's not bad, and as songwriters in this realm go, he's pretty damn good. Should he perform his own songs? Maybe not given the success WSP has with them. Maybe he should focus on publishing or something? That said, Jerry himself likes to say far out shit that's pretty harsh on others at times, so whatever. Most of the haters in this thread of posts haven't done more than create a steady output of feces in their lives. Jerry is at least taking his cuts.

Wow. I can't believe a benefit show would turn into a JJ and McFadden bashing. The folks that are bashing have no clue....I mean, just read that horseshit! JJ is the best singer/ songwriter/ performer to walk this earth and McFadded rips the mandolin & guitar. Get well Wally and JJ, keep pissing these punks w/out a clue off. Us true fans understand. See ya on the CO run.....can't wait.
