Local rock 'n' roll band donates
proceeds of holiday show to The Salvation Army

Backyard Tire Fire announces the first ever Holiday Jamboree on December 16th, 2006 at the historic Castle Theater. Bloomington-Normal musicians will take the stage this holiday season to benefit The Salvation Army's Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter. The annual event and brainchild of guitarist and songwriter Ed Anderson, is designed to bring some of the area's most talented musicians together to raise awareness and revenue for a local charity by doing what they do best- Rockin' the House!

Backyard Tire Fire based out of Bloomington, IL is taking time out of their busy schedule to give back to the community. The trio is organizing the event that will feature collaborations with other local musicians. "We want to make this an annual charity event in Bloomington. We are pleased to donate this years proceeds to The Salvation Army to help them build a much needed new homeless shelter that will allow for men, women and children to receive services," said band member Ed Anderson.

Other Bloomington-Normal musicians involved in the event will be:

Tommy O'Donnell (Ike Reilly/Something Brother/Spelunker), Cody Diekhoff (Chicago Farmer), Ed Pierce (Something Brother/Shiny on Top), Scott Tipping (Bad Cat/Mick Ducker), Joe Kennedy (Brother Jed & Full Size Jimmy), Tony SanFilippo (Wiplot/Oxide Lounge Recording), Eric Lott (harmonica/steel player), Fish Carpenter (Wiplot), Cory Star (Full Size Jimmy, Public Display of Funk), Ken Richardson (Dirty Hands Band, Full Size Jimmy).

In addition to music there will be a silent raffle featuring gifts from local businesses. Tickets may be purchased at The Castle Theater or www.backyardtirefire.com. A $15 donation is requested, $10 minimum. Canned and dry goods will also be accepted at the door for the Salvation Army's food pantry. Doors open at 8:00pm, show at 9:00pm.

Founded in 2001, Backyard Tire Fire, one of the Midwest's hardest working bands plays over 160 shows a year across America. Ranging from folk, pop, alt-country, Southern rock, R & B and rock 'n' roll, BTF plays original music enjoyed by people of all walks of life.
