GRATEFUL DEAD: COW PALACE

Mixed from the original 16-track analog master tapes and mastered in stellar HDCD sound, Grateful Dead: Live at the Cow Palace, a 3-CD set from the band's historic New Year's Eve 1976-1977 show is the latest of our official multi-track vault releases. Over 13,000 fans shared a transcendent celebration and peak Grateful Dead experience that renowned KSAN-FM DJ and concert co-host Glenn Lambert described as, 'one of those nights when they're airborne from the start, and climbing fast on a jet to the Promised Land.' This legendary show features highlights such as 'Playing In the Band', 'Morning Dew', 'Samson & Delilah', 'Eyes Of the World', and 'Scarlet Begonias'.

All pre-orders of the Grateful Dead's Cow Palace release will receive a very special bonus CD, Spirit of '76, featuring more than an hour of previously unreleased music from 1976, produced especially for this release. Highlights are numerous, including exquisite renditions of "The Music Never Stopped" and "Crazy Fingers" from 6/9/76, "Let It Grow" and "Might As Well" from 10/2/76, and the magnificent "Playing In The Band" >"Supplication" >"Playing In The Band" jam from 9/24/76. This CD is available only through GDStore.com for a limited time when you purchase the Cow Palace release.

Please note: If your order contains the Cow Palace release, ALL items in your order will be held and shipped together on or around January 19th, 2007. If you wish to order items in addition to Cow Palace and receive them before the release date of January 23rd, please place a separate order.

They should have included "Mission in the Rain" from the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, IL 6/29/76. It is one of my favorite all time songs with Jerry singing!!!

This is awesome. This is a great show, possibly my favorite GD NYE. Also, I am glad that '76 in finally getting some love since it is, imo one of their top two or three years.

dicks picks 24 3/23/74 at the cow palace is also a great show and it has several of the same tracks as this nye. bertha, scarlet begonias, morning dew, deal, playing in the band, sugar mag, and wharf rat are all there in all their glory. i beleive that one (3/23/74) was the debut of the wall of sound but i could be mistaken. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

Done and done. This is great! Nothin' I love better than a good bit o' good Dead news.

Such a long, long time to be gone... but a short time to be there.

Much love to J.G.,

Have a Jerry Christmas everybody!
