TO PERFORM GLOBAL FESTIVAL 2012
The Global Poverty Project (GPP) announced the Global Festival 2012, a multifaceted event culminating with a free ticketed concert in iconic Central Park, New York on September 29, 2012. Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters and The Black Keys will headline, supported by Band of Horses and K'naan.
Starting today, free tickets to the concert can be earned through the new online platform, Global Citizen. By simply taking action through the website, choosing from a variety of cause related actions, music fans can qualify for free tickets to the concert.
"The Global Festival, and our platform, Global Citizen, will bring together thousands of people to see an end to extreme poverty in our lifetime," said Hugh Evans, CEO, The Global Poverty Project. "We are grateful to the artists and producers who are taking part for enabling us to bring together such an iconic concert to draw attention to our powerful messages."
The Global Poverty Project aims to motivate a generation to take 100,000 actions by September and take a stand against poverty.
