The Second City is especially proud to announce the Fifth annual "The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa" 24-hours of improvisation by Second City performers and featuring special guests – to provide holiday presents for needy families. The event will begin at: 7:00pm Tuesday, December 12 – Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in The Second City e.t.c. (1608 North Wells Street in Piper's Alley). Tickets are $10.00 each and can be purchased at the door.

For the fifth straight year, a collection of some of Chicago's best known improvisers take the stage for an entire 24-hour period to benefit "The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa" providing presents for underprivileged children and families in the Chicago area. The 24-hours will be full of traditional improv games, long form scenes, monologues, and anything else you can imagine to keep the improvisers awake. This group of Second City improvisers will be supported by special guests throughout the night and day and night.

Some special guests scheduled to appear are Jeff Tweedy, Robbie Fulks, Jon Langford, Sally Timms, The Blisters and a very late appearance by Shellac.

The admission price of $10.00 will guarantee you entry for the event for the entire 24 hour period. Raffle prizes and special silent auction items will also be offered during the event – including handwritten original lyrics for an entire new Stooges album autographed by Iggy Pop.
