LONG BEACH FUNK FEST RETURNS ON AUGUST 18
The fourth annual Long Beach Funk Fest is returning to Downtown Long Beach at Pine & Broadway on Saturday, August 18, 2012. From noon to 11 p.m., some of history's most respected funk royalty will perform at this free, all ages event which also features two stages, a full lineup of well-known funk DJs, various street vendors and unique funk-themed activities for the whole family to enjoy. Headliners include The Family Stone, Brides of Funkenstein, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, and Dennis Coffey. Other highlights include a performance by the Sea Funk Brass Band, The Kid's Zone of Funkativity, a Beachwood BBQ & Brewing beer garden, a funk art gallery, live painting and dancing. Catalyst and Green Long Beach are sponsoring a water filling station and are encouraging attendees to bring their own water bottles to the event.
