I really don't think they have the infrastructure at their venue for all 15k people to camp. The community has pretty much sent the message to them to "get these damn hippies out of here after dark" and they have complied by spreading night shows around the area.

This is a very good initial announcement, and there is enough top-to-bottom to please everyone but the "They have to include Band-X for me to be happy" crowd. Can't wait to see the additions, though if past history is an indicator, they will likely fill out with bands outside of the jam-genre for a wider appeal. I really like where they are taking this festival, and will definitely be a repeat visitor.

awesome lineup, they must have ripped off quite a few kids. Maybe the pigs paid them to let em walk through the campsites to bust kids for underage drinking. Or/and charged the vendors extra because they knew they were gonna have the one entry a day rule. This fest could be a lot more awesome if the promoters would think like fans.

Thats what went down last year. i wished they would have signed onto wanee fest. F the south florida community. they dont want hippies out after dark on the outskirts of miami. But puerto rican whores can roam the streets. I saw phish's new years there and got propositioned by a working girl that couldnt have been 17.

LANGERADOOOO...much better line up from last year. the bust on underage drinkin last year was pretty fuckin weak conisidering one of the kids in the campsite over took to much acid his 1st time geeked out and had the cops tackel his ass to the ground, but besides all that langerado kicks some serious fuckin ass and im wicked pumped ill see every one in march!

Solid First line up. I think they're taking more aof a bonnaroo approach aswell. Adding bands like malkmus and the jicks and band of horses will probably attract same different kinds of people. I am extremely pleased with bands like the slip and soulive. I could do without crappy bands like OAR and Perrper. Just One Question: WHERES UMPH?!?!

yeah I think this fest is just wanting kids to stick to acid and long term effecting drugs, thats the only way to feel good and see music all day when you cant come and go to the concert area as you please. I hope my venting isnt dampening anyones hopes of a good fest. Im just hoping those in charge are reading this and change some of the NAZI rules from last year so I can attend. Almost had a good time last year.

That lineup looks absolutely amazing. Two years ago they were letting us go in and out of the venue, I heard last year the fest was a pain in the ass. They definitely need to make the camping cheaper, for the price they were charging last year I would rather get a hotel on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale.

mr2bits Wed 11/15/2006 09:45AM

While I won't speculate on other reasons why anyone would need reentry to enjoy themselves, I will say that if re-entry is not allowed, they do need to provide more shade spots near the main stages for people to relax and recoup. They got lucky with the weather last year. Combining vendor monopoly over water with a lack of shade can be a recipe for disaster, and its foolish to bank on there being a high temperature below 85.

I went last year and the music was great. Meters, Lips, Crowes, Wilco--all very impressive. Especially the Crowes for whom I had low expectations. The music was great, the fans and the atmosphere were also great. But no re-entry really sucked. And the event staff at the gate was terrible. One woman told me that my camelbak was not allowed, so I left and went to another gatekeeper/bag inspector and that person LET me bring in the camelbak. Plus you had to keep your ticket to get in for the whole weekend--no wristbands or anything. Not very userfriendly for the fans.

This festival has been killer from the start. Last year was the first year I did not go. I bought tix, but because they were so ridiculously priced, I sold them. This festival charges way too much for a show without free on-site camping. The first year it was $35. Last year after all the services fees it came out to $300 for two tix. I'm happy to see they brought back moe. and MMW. They are the ones who made this fest what it is. I'm glad they finally realized it.

Honestly, the on-site camping isnt worth it. Last year they didn't allow re-entry, so don't plan on saving $ by bringing your own food. Given that and the pricetag, get a hotel. If thats too expensive, book a local campground as I hear there are usually just as many festival goers there as in the official campgrounds.

yllime,
this fest is fun. camp in the park-the cops aren't bad. the only time i saw them last year was when some spun out kid hit a girl with a hammer. the cops hogtied him, the sun was coming up and it was pretty crazy. you can't reenter which sucks, you can bring in water and you can drink cans in the campground. it is pretty fuckin hot though. last year there was a bus we were taking to the late night shows. there are bars/restaurants and stuff like that you can walk to from the campground incase u don't have a car. you can take public transportation there from the airport if u are flying. it cost me like $2. i thought the lineup sucked last year and still had a blast. the late night shows will be fin crazy.

CAMPING IS DEFINATELY WORTH IT!!! Don't have to worry about traffic in or out (or driving at all for that matter). Boozing is allowed, but there were cops carding. There's a relatively clean lake to jump in. Since its a relatively small camping section... the festival had a more homely feel as I watched people sit in traffic lines. If you really wanted to be sneaky, re-entry was possible via a dragon-fly guarded path. Also the best treats seemed to be found among campers :)

IT SUCKS !!!
i wish you could pull up the comments from last year. there is come kind of crappy shuttle service and YOU CAN ONLY ENTER THE STAGE AREA ONCE A DAY! if you want to eat or drink get a beer, you have to pay about $8 for each since you can't go back to your car or tent becasue there's no re-entry. they expect you to spend 16 hous at a time trapped in the stage area, forced to empty your pockets.
DONT GO TO LANGERADO

Went last year. Great site, the weather was perfect, like high 70s low 80s with a breeze blowing during the day. Slight chill in the air at night. Plenty of goodies floating around, seemed like a lot for the size of the fest. Open environment in the festival, smoke freely, never really saw or dealt with any cops except coming in checking tickets/wristband/bags. Seemed like kind of a weird crowd around me sometimes, but who knows that may have just been me. My sister lived down there so we were staying at her place and driving in. That was a mistake, they only have one long two lane road going in and out and when the last show is ending it takes forever to leave. Almost nobody directing the traffic so there weren't even lines, just people driving anywhere they could find open space. Kind of crazy, took like 2 hours to get out the first night, but was a lot smoother the second night like 20-30 minutes(probably because more people left early).

The only complaint other than traffic was that the last show for the night ends by like 10:00 p.m. So it really is a day festival. I don't think they can have loud music going on late at the park so it will probably be the same way this year. Obviously there are late night shows which is cool but I would like for the fest to go till at least midnight or something.

I wasn't going to go back but now that I see the lineup I don't know if I have a choice.

Man, this sure is one impressive lineup. I really dig all of the artist choices except for O.A.R. and Matisyahu. O.A.R. just has no talent, and will just bring ignorant kids to the festival that just want to get high and drunk. Same thing with matisyahu, he's really just a novelty act. Matisyahu is to reggae as the George Foreman grilling machine is to grills. I'm pretty sick of seeing Matisyahu playing at these festies. Aside from that, the lineup is so sick. The Slip, Widespread, Biscuits. I'd just like to hear from more people who have gone to the festival so I can decide if it'd be worth going all the way down to Florida. I can't imgaine langerado could be any worse than lollapalooza '06.

Keep your horrible opinion to yourself, ive been the past two years and this is a great festival, just remember that no festival is perfect and florida is tourist state so spending a lot of money is part of entering the state i paid $13.70 for a f**king toll road, so please dont bash something you have never expirenced so shut the f**k up and please dont come- thanks

Widespread, Trey, moe, Matis, OAR, franti, Malkmus, MMW (!) Bisco, Taj, Greyboy, North Mississippi, Toots, Pepper, Soulive, Mofro, P Groove, Tea Leaf Green, New MOnsoon, Band, ASSEMBLY OF DUST (!!!!!) The Slip, and Lotus. Damn fine lineup, that's for sure. I've never seen Malkmus (from the amazingly talented band Pavement) or Assembly of Dust. AOD is my new favorite jam band, if you havn't heard them, just five "Burned Down" or "Shame" or "The Harrower" or "Bootlegger's Advice" a listen and bask in Reid's advanced songwriting talent. I might have to go just to see AOD! Man I love the begining of the season!

I have been to the last 3 and security has never been a problem, even when it was in the middle of town. Camping/driving in and out is an issue, but its the reality. Langerado isn't your typical out in the sticks fest, its in the middle of a very populous area. Plus its in a county park so alcohol in camping and noise issues are unavoidable, though I agree they suck.

In fact, I think you all should stay away and let those of us who live down here suffer through this horrible festival.

Langerado is one of the best festivals along side of Vegoose! It is spring break in sunny FLA, early march, bringing the sunshine and perfect 80 degree weather without a cloud in the sky! I have been the last three years and it rocks. Camping is kind of a rip off because you pay extra but just get a hotel room. Minutes from the festival and you sleep in comfort with a shower. Not going to your car sucks, but I have always snuck in alcohol, dogs, people, etc... also late night shows require driving so it can be good not to drink to much. The vibe has been great the past three years and will be great agian. All the ignorant suckers (jarvis) should recognize and grow the fuck up. I am Bisco kid too, but not a spun out asshole who cant appreciate other music.

I'm not sure if mr2bits' comment was directed towards me or not, but either way you do have a great point. I probably should focus on all the stuff im diggin on about Langerado this year, and there's plenty of that. I especially like the convenient location of the fest, it's right by an airport. Is anyone else as excited as me about The Slip's new CD? I hope they become more of a part of the jam scene over this summer. It's also good do see NMA back on the Festy scene.

I wasnt trying to single anyone out, but just trying to point out that with this lineup, I really think there's a little something (or a lot of something) for all of us to enjoy. I admit there are bands in the lineup that I'm not too thrilled about, but I think toleration of other people's music is a tradeoff we should all be willing to make in exchange for getting so much of what we do enjoy. Sorry if im getting preachy. Hope you all have a blast!

I live in South Florida (5 min. from Markham Park) so, I've been to every Langerado. And, believe it or not I don't regret it. On one hand I would prefure it if the fest was moved 40 min. west out on Big Cypress and was then fenced off like other big summer fests and the late-night shows could be right on the same stages as the day shows. But, since this is not the case I look at it more like Jazz-Fest or Vegoose - with one main festival during the day, a series of late-night shows at various venues and most people stay in hotels due to the Urban surroundings. If they keep it up I feel it could become like the Jazz-Fest for Jam-Bands (or Jam-Fest). I know you could say Jazz-Fest has already went that way but its still JAZZ-Fest. Anyway, other than directing traffic I've never noticed any police activity. The camping situation sucks but why would you not want to get a room near the BEACH anyway.

OK, so the line up is solid. For me personally, it totally lacks any kind of bluegrassy flare. Booo. but good, nonetheless. SOunds like from teh comments that its not a very fan friendly atmosohere though. And yes, Im tired of seeing Panic and Trey on every major fest line up. Eh, you peeps down south will have a blast anyway. I prefer smaller festivals without Panic and trey, with ample camping and more small community bands filling the gaps. Have a great Langerado!! why are these festivals always so male-dominated yo? true, there are a few sprinkled amidst the sea of sausage...just not enough for me nor my super-hot hippie sisters to make it out there...oh, wait, is it because Matisyahu won't perform on the same stage as a woman, or is that just a rumor? mi love reggae, but just knowing the jewish orthodox religion makes me believe it...sadly.

Spoondog, I have good news and bad news. First the bad, it is true I do know of a specific instance when Matisyahu refused to share the stage with a women. The good news is as a local who has been to all the Langerados I can tell you my favorite thing about this fest is how it breaks the sausage trend found at most of these band's shows. I promise you the girls are smokin' and the ratio is great. So come on down, bring your super-hot hippie sistas with you and we'll all skip the Matisyahu set together.

Man what a lineup. Might have to make the trip down this year. I agree that this festivel needs a little bluegrass in it Yonder would be my choice but railroad would be awesome also. Also Umph is a must for this festivel. U guys need to stop smashing all these bands u may not like them but that doesnt mean other people dont! There is a couple bands i have no intrest in seeing there but some people obviously do so just dont go to that show and let the people that wanna go see that band enjoy it! Wow, there are actually people who have something positive to say on this site - something different. I'm wondering if any of these comments are coming from the same individuals who wanted to draw and quarter Ethan for last years lineup....

We wouldn't have this festival at all if not for folks like Ethan, so remember that the next time you don't see your favorite band on the lineup and start posting the kynd of garbage I read last year. Some examples from various sites, including this one:

"The lineup sucks this year!!! I'm not happy with all these school boy bands. There are some really good acts among the lineup, which I will make sure I'm there for. Whatever happend to moe. and Cheese, and where in the hell is P-Groove's spot. I want to see them outside for once. This festival is f-cking turning into Bonnaroo".

"I don't want reggae bands, I don't want electronica bands, and I dont' want commerical rock bands. I want a group to jam away for 15-20 minutes to make me lose my mind. If I wanted to hear reggae, I'd be going to Bayfront Park every other weekend. If I wanted electronic music, I'd be going to South Beach".

"What the hell is Ethan thinking with this sorry lineup.. Me thinks he has gone off the deep end...I was hoping to maybe come back home to FL for this fest...but not with this lineup. Maybe those hurricanes have gotten to Ethan and Scott's head"

" Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals? The Flaming Lips! WTF kinda tabs were they on when they came up with this shit"

There's a way of voicing your displeasure without being mean about it, so let's try a little harder in '07 to show a little appreciation even if you don't necessarily like the bands playing at any given festival. These promotors work all year for you, the music fan, and deserve our respect. 'Nuff said.

I didn't have to look them up - I posted a piece last year on the101report.com regarding all the negativity coming from so-called music fans (more like fair-weather fans, if you ask me). I just thought reposting them would give some insight as to what I was referring to.

I come from a generation where we showed appreciation and respect for all musicians, promotors, etc...This generation respects nothing, as evident by the postings I read on a daily basis. In a nutshell: If a lineup doesn't work for you, then it sucks and the promotor should be shot.

How ridiculous.

High Sierra's line up last year was jam-packed with female energy in their line-up and that is why i went...they were all amazing in their own way:

Grace Potter
West Indian Girl
Kris Delmhorst
Naomi & The Courteous Rudeboys
Erin McKoewn
Emeline Michel from Haiti!!!!
The New Up
Mia Dyson
Adrienne Young
Raina Rose
and more that I can't even think of right now....seriously...this ratio was the best ever!!!! more festivals should seriously consider the fact that their draw would be even larger and definately more balanced with more chicas!!!

Hi everyone,

this is Ethan - I am one of the many people who are involved in putting on Langerado.

On this Thanksgiving Day I would just like to give thanks to all those who work with my partner and I all year long to make Langerado the event it has become. The list is endless, and those people who are involved know that their work is truly appreciated by myself and my partner Mark. Without them working their butts off this festival would not be what it is.

I am thankful to the music fans out there who have supported this event from the very beginning, when it was a small one-day festival next to the Orioles spring training facility in Ft. Lauderdale. The people who are truly appreciative of all styles of music and have allowed us to experiment with the lineup and bring in different styles and genres each year. For me, it's only gotten better and better - Every year we try and expose people to more and more of the great music that is out there.

I am thankful to my wife who has supported me 100% and my family who believe in allowing me to do what I love without asking me to go take the manager training classes at Macy's.

I am thankful to all the bands who have come so far south in the Spring to play music for all the people who come out to the festival every year.

Mostly I am thankful that we are able to do this every year for more and more people. There will always be people out there who will throw a negative spin on things - but as I've gotten a little bit older I've learned that it's impossible to please everyone. We just hope that we can continue to do Langerado in lovely South Florida for many years to come and that we will continuously try and imprve things each and every year so that the fans will want to come back.

So most importantly thank you to the people who come out support these things because without all of you coming out, the work that goes into doing it would be all for naught.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! See you on JamCruise and hopefully at Langerado in March!

For those of you unfamiliar with the site, camping for everyone is simply not possible, as it is a local county park, that continues to operate daily as a park during the festival. Ideally, in the future, it will be moved to private land, where everyone can camp, and the late nights can be on-site.

For those of you bitching, moaning and complaining, I have two words: Grow up. Another two words: Stay home. Musical tastes are an extremely diverse subject, and Ethan is doing a masterful job of crossing a lot of musical spectra. He can't design and plan individual festivals for every person's unique musical tastes. Either the line-up works for you, in which case, I will see you there, or you can wait for one of the zillions of summer festivals, one of which might be more to your liking. Or better yet, you can plan and produce your own festival; as it really is not much work at all. Stop complaining; stop nitpicking; stop demanding; and be thankful that this festival exists. Thank you Ethan.

Spaceface-I may be missing something but I think the camping pass is all-inclusive meaning your admission into the festival is included. Again, I may be misreading the web page. Plus, it sounds like you have in/out privileges with the camping pass. The in/out issue appears to have been a big one in the past.

You know what would be really sweet? If JoJo was NMAS special guest! A Smilin Assassins renunion! I think Crumpy Edwards of Bloodkin played bass for the band, but I think I rather have Chew. His too much of a great stage presence. Maybe Kenny Brown and the Burnside boys will make a special appearance too. Play some Hill Country Blues to the weeee hours of the morning. mmmmmmmmmm! yeah that would be sweeeeeeet!

My guess is that Panic isnt playing late night because of cost considerations. The late night venues are pretty small, and they'd prob have to charge an arm and a leg for tix. But seeing as I'm not a promoter and have no idea how much it would cost to get an xtra show of panic, your guess is as good as mine.

MMJ lead almost any show they play at Shizzy. Have you seen them live? They are one of the most refereshing and interesting live acts I've seen in years. At High Sierra they blew my mind. I've seen Panic many times, and am excited to see them with Jimmy, but I just don't understand the tendency for Jam music fans to bash the new bands while they ridgidly cling to the ones we've all see over and over.
My Morning Jacker Rule. If you don't want to see them, theer are plenty of other stages.

assafjaffe is right on! get over the obsession that panic is all you can listen to. MMJ is one of the hottest, refreshing, best live bands and deserves to be respected and followed. I've been following Panic since the early 1990s (yea, I'm old) and love them, but ask yourself the question:

Are you a music fan? Or are you a groupy?

MMJ rocks, A+++ performance at the Ryman.

so wait a minute. like vegoose, you pay this tick price but that only gets you "normal hours" of music. That does NOT Include lodging or late night performances.

sorry y'all. Langerado may have been voted "best festival" but where I come from (upstate ny) the promoters are stingy, money-hungry dollar collectors who make you pay for every little thing. UP here, you pay for a festival, you get all the music and all the lodging....

this is like some infomercial of festivals. "Oh wait, you wanted to see the disco biscuits at night, yeah, that'll be another $30. And P-Groove too, oh yeah, that's another $30...and staying on our private land, yeah, that'll be another $75.

gimme a F____ing break! Promoters and money-hungry suits have taken these jam festivals and flipped them for their gain. WE ALL LOSE IN THIS SCENARIO!

quit yer bitching. it's not like this is the first festival to ever charge for camping.

plus the festival is held on a public park so no matter if you are there for Langerado or not, you still have to pay to camp.

jturner: where do you get your info? do you live in South Florida? I do and have not heard a word about surrounding towns worrying about the infrastructure of Langerado. if anything, Langerado is one of the best run festivals in the US.

You sir, have no idea what you are talking about

danpfunk Thu 2/1/2007 10:16AM

Not sure where some of you get your information. The people in the surrounding towns??? What did you do a poll in Weston? People in SoFL don't give a shit if you don't bother them. Same with the cops, don't be stupid and you won't have trouble. This will be the 3rd time in the same spot and besides horrible traffic there has never been a problem.

The people that put on Langerado are far from money grubbers. I am sure they have been eating money on this festival for the first 4 years just to get it going. I for one couldn't be happier to finally have a festival in my home state, (not to mention jam cruise) which pulls more musicians down here. I have noticed the difference in the number and frequency of shows over the last few years and I couldn't be happier. I mean come on, I will get to see Galactic 3 times in 2 months?? That didn't used to happen.

If you don't wanna pay the price or think you are gonna get hassled or are afraid to leave your house, don't come, and the rest of us will enjoy it!

How in the hell can anyone be appalled that festivals actually have an economic cost associated with them? Sorry to break the bad news, but bands and promoters are in this business to make money. (as they should) The only difference between them and some of us is that they have found a way to get by in life by following their passion. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FREE. Get over it. Langerado is a great show (umphrey's will be missed) and each person is different...so if you don't like it don't go. If you don't want to pay the price, then don't. It is what it is and it's not going to change. Last year, I was happy to pay the small camping fee whereas some of my friends got hotels. This way you don't spend extra money if you don't want to. In fact, I think that it gives the crowd more of a choice. It's not like the tickets were outrageous. As for the bands we don't like, don't go see them. Yes it is a waste that OAR is going to get some stage time, but who cares!

Have a good time all the time and don't waste your good typing fingers on negative crap...like I just did...ironic eh?

Felony drug charges, what?

Since the spotlight is on Trey and so many people blindly follow this guy, regardless of what he does, I think it might be a good idea to stay AWAY from wherever he is, because now "mainstream" folks know that he is a drug culture icon, or at least, the "he does drugs, so everyone going to his shows must do drugs too", kinda guy. I am betting on "the man" making their presence known wherever Trey finds himself this summer. He is a cold sore on the lips of the scene and needs to step aside until he can get himself in better shape, because right now, he is only going to draw unnecessary and unwanted attention to the fans and folks alike who happen to congregate where he is playing.

craikes13 - Doesn't society already classify any rock n roll star as a drug culture icon? I mean it's no secret that a lot of musicians out there have done their fair share of drugs? I don't think that Trey getting busted will have any affect on the "mainstream" way of thinking, they prollay already assumed he was on drugs anyway.

I didn't mean to bring negativity, just my opinion on what you said, thats all. I will say that with the festi scene getting more publicity, it'll be very interesting to see this summer the direction that festi's will take.. Will "the man" hold us down this summer? Or will the scene fight through last years BS and get back to its Roots? Langerado will be the start. Cheers to hoping for a grate and SAFE summer, pig free.

Trey's recent experience with painkillers has no effect on how law enforcement approaches a festival. The police are well aware that x amount of the fesival attendees will be buying, selling & using drugs. They are also aware that X amount of attendees will not. Do you really think that Trey's addition to the bill brings out more police? How does an addiction to painkillers make one a drug culture icon? That must mean that everyone that attends a Willie Nelson show gets high too. Mel Gibson, Ted Kennedy and Paris Hilton are drink culture icons? Dom Deluise is a pizza icon. Jason Kidd is a wife beater icon. New Jersey Nets fans must beat their wives/girlfriends too............now that "mainstream" has caught on.

Can't believe how some people show so much disrepect for Trey. Who the hell do you think you are? He's a wonderful musician and a fine human being. His daughter walked him to the stage at Brooklyn; he's clearly trying to get healthy, but stumbled. Give the guy a freaking break.

According to this board. It looks like traffic in & out will suck, won't be much bluegrass, non-campers not allowed in the camping area, cops are dicks, and Trey may or may not be high during his set. On December 15, Anastasio was arrested in Whitehall, New York while diving erratically. The story indicates that in addition to prescription painkillers, a substance was found in the car later was determined to be heroin. As a result, the grand jury opted to file the felony charge. Thanks Cocheese! I wasn't referring to painkillers in my previous post. I doubt anyone would consider painkillers as a means to become a drug-icon. Herion isn't drinking and drinking isn't pot. When the feds catch wind of Heroin, their little noses get all fired up w/ what else they can uncover.
Sure, 'the man' can overlook the green, but they DO NOT overlook heroin. I don't mind being associated w/ folks who drink and smoke, but I don't want to be associated w/ a Heroin junkie! .....And that is exactly what will happen.

However, in one respect 'etre', you are right, people already "assume" that drugs are out in force at these festivals..........why? because they ARE!!! However, now they have confirmation. And this was all BEFORE the word Heroin was thrown into the mix. Again, cops get edgy enough when it comes to public intoxication, and other less harmful drugs, but when they think they can find something even better, they will take a look.

I certainly hope beyond all hope that nothing bad happens to out scene this year, but at the rate things are going, good luck! The powers-that-be use these festivals as major revenue streams, due to the out of state tags, heads who are clueless to their rights, and people just being dumb. It would be foolish to think that once these groups have smelled blood in the water (HSMF) that they will simply pack up and go home, never to bust a festival again. This year will surely be the year we either sink or swim in the festival world. the commercial world is scavenging far and wide to find new places to get us to spend our dollar, and whenever the gears of commerce are involved, more eyes will be watching.

Please, everyone, just be kind to your neighbor, smart on the roads and cautious anytime you are entering or exiting a festival and the surrouding counties/cities. I don't want anything bad to happen, but it just makes sense to keep our eyes and ears open.

I live about 5 minutes from Markham Park and have been to Langerado every year. Each year is more organized and the police activity has never been too bad. This festival is not in the middle of nowhere, it's in the middle of a huge metropolis, this explains the cost and why having all the shows be one place where everyone can camp is impossible. So instead we have the next best thing. Personally I love it, it's like Jazz-Fest but mostly jambands and you can stay on the Beach.

Fluffdon clearly attended Phish shows in 97 and 98, while marcsmall1 didn't. The 97 New Years run with the olive loaf show, triple encore with Trey and Fishman chasing each other, running circles around the stage, is one of the bests concerts I've ever attended (my first Phish show was Wetlands 88, and I saw over 150 Dead shows from 85-95).

marcsmall1, in an interview Trey has stated that they were able to avoid heavy drugs until 99.

What is better about Big Cypress? 2+ hours from the nearest airport, with 1 road going in and out of the place.

It is amazing how a little speculation from a few people on this thread has a whole group convinced that the scene is lame or sketchy. Oh well. I guess less crowded is better for the rest of us.
