NEW ALBUM, LIGHT FORMS OUT AUGUST 4

Denver-based electronic trio, The Malah, will release their new album, Light Forms, on Aug. 4, 2012, marking the band's first full-length release in more than four years. The band will embark on a nationwide tour in support of Light Forms, bringing their multi-instrumental sound to cities like Chicago and NYC. The tour kicks off in Denver, CO with an album release party at the historical Bluebird Theater on Aug. 4.
Light Forms, which was two years in the making, is a follow-up to Sound Spectrum, The Malah's well-received 2008 release. Produced at the band's in-home studio in Englewood, CO, Light Forms features The Malah's robust, multi-instrumental sound, showcasing the trio's signature upbeat melodies and flawless musicianship. Mike Rempel of Lotus makes a guest appearance on "Sweet Spring," one of the standout tracks on Light Forms.
"Our move to CO did influence the new album. Colorado is a completely new area for us, so it allowed us to be a part of a new scene and expand our sound," Seth Fankhauser said. "For example, "70 West" was provoked by the drive through the Rockies. There's something very inspiring about the evolving landscape, and as musicians, music is just our way to express that feeling."
