WHICH AIRS LIVE ON NOVEMBER 18

THE ANNUAL EVENT, HOSTED BY
BILLY CRYSTAL, WHOOPI GOLDBERG AND ROBIN WILLIAMS
WILL RAISE FUNDS TO HELP FAMILIES AFFECTED BY HURRICANE KATRINA

Bonerama
New Orleans' Bonerama will serve as the House Band for the live all-star comedy event COMIC RELIEF 2006, to air Saturday, November 18 (9:00pm-midnight live ET/tape-delayed PT) on HBO and TBS. Hosted by Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams, and featuring a long list of A-talent including Dane Cook, cast members from "Desperate Housewives" (Ricardo Chavira, James Denton, Doug Savant), cast members from "Entourage" (Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, Jeremy Piven), Mike D.L. Hughley, George Lopez, Bill Maher, Howie Mandel, Ray Romano, Rebecca Romijn, Sarah Silverman, Jon Stewart and others, the event will be recorded live from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. With Comic Relief's mission to unite the comedy community behind some of society's most relevant causes and pressing needs, the COMIC RELIEF 2006 concert will help families affected by Hurricane Katrina. For more information visit www.comicrelief.org.

Hailed as "The Ultimate in brass balls" by Rolling Stone magazine, Bonerama features a dizzying display of trombone talent; four trombones, to be exact. Band leaders Mark Mullins and Craig Klein shelf any jazz subtlety for Bonerama, opting instead for heavy funk, rock 'n' roll, and pure horn muscle. Mullins and Klein are joined by fellow boners Steve Suter and Rick Trolsen, imaginative and dynamic sousaphone player Matt Perrine and edgy experimental guitarist Bert Cotton. The band also features a rotating cast of New Orleans' finest drummers, including Russell Batiste, Stanton Moore, Eric Bolivar, and Terence Higgins.

The band recently spent two nights at Tipitina's recording brand new live material for their third album, to be released in the spring of 2007. Look for the band on tour in support of the new release beginning early in the new year. Visit www.bonerama.net for tour dates and other information as they become available.

Bonerama has a great, funky sound! I hear them quite a bit on XM's Beyond Jazz. Too bad it isn't a live Bonerama show with a little comedy during the setbreak or something.

Just saw Robin Williams last week here in SF. He's been doing some last minute shows (appropriately called "Working on Material") in preparation for this HBO gig. So that I don't spoil it for anyone all I can say is: YOU WILL LAUGH YOUR ASS OFF!!!

FYI, there *is* a NOLA version of the Comic Relief event on the same night (Sat 11/18), with other big-name comics performing on an outdoor stage next to harrah's casino in downtown NOLA. The Radiators are the "house band" for the NOLA Comic Relief event. Yeah you rite!!
