NEW CHARITY COMPILATION TO CELEBRATE THE 2ND ANNUAL LOWDOWN HUDSON BLUES FESTIVAL
To celebrate this week's second annual Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival,
presented by Brookfield Office Properties at the World Financial
Center Plaza on Wednesday and Thursday, July 11-12, New
York-based indie label Sojourn Records is proud to announce the
exclusive release of their first edition of recordings Live From The
Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival. These recordings were made July
28-30, 2011, during the festival's debut year, at the same location as
this year's performances. Advance copies of the disc will only be
available for sale at this week's festival and will be issued as a
commercial release in both physical and digital formats at a later
date.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the CD will be donated to
support the Music Educators Association of NYC (MEANYC). MEANYC,
founded 1989, has been dedicated to the pursuit of quality music
education for every child. Funds raised are matched by charitable
gift made possible by Sea Cliff Holdings LLC.
The event was recorded and mixed by Sojourn Records President Mark
Ambrosino, and appearing on the release will be 2011 festival
recordings of James Blood Ulmer and the Memphis Blood Blues featuring
Vernon Reid, Steven Bernstein's Millennial Territory Orchestra and
Henry Butler, Amy LaVere, Hazmat Modine, Ryan Shaw, Mike Farris and
the Roseland Rhythm Review, The Beauties, Citigrass and Sojourn
recording artist Danny Kalb Quartet.
This year's free Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival will feature Buddy Guy,
Neko Case, John Mayall, Charles Bradley and the Extraordinaires, Quinn Sullivan, and He's My Brother She's My Sister over the two day
period. This week's performances will also be recorded by Mark
Ambrosino for future release, pending clearances.
