HELP WALLY BEAT CANCER!

Wally Ingram was recently diagnosed with throat and neck cancer. Wally has just undergone surgery and will be starting chemotherapy treatment soon. Here is a word from the man:

Greetings Friends!

Wally Ingram in Europe by Kayceman
I hope you all are happy and healthy and Rocking Hard! In case you have not already heard, I have been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Cancer in the Tonsil and Neck region. My prognosis is very good even with Stage 4A rating (apparently Stage 4B wouldn't be so promising). So we are very fortunate to have caught it at this stage.

I began a six week Induction Chemotherapy treatment program at Cedars-Sinai in LA on Sept. 25. After 3 weeks the neck mass has responded incredibly well to the aggressive treatment, shrinking dramatically!!! I am experiencing some pretty gnarly side-effects but this is fair trade to eradicate the beast! I will spare the gruesome details. After the six week deal I will undergo seven-eight weeks of Radiation/Chemo combination treatments five-days a week followed by a surgery to clean up any left-overs. We have an amazing team of doctor's and we are getting cutting edge treatment protocol. Some of these chemo drugs are not even FDA approved as yet! All good so far and we are confident that everything is going to be just fine!

I can't say enough about the outpouring of love and support from friends, family and folks whom I've not even met (yet)! Laurie and I would like to sincerely thank you all for reaching out during this difficult time. Thank You So Much.

Love and Determination,
Wally, Laurie and Lydia

An account to help Wally with his medical expenses has also been established. If you'd like to make donations, send them to:

We have lots of stuff going on here at Team Wally! A new Wally's World BLOG has been set up to field all of the e-mails and amazing outpouring of response from friends and fans. Wally will be occasionally writing in with updates. We will be holding benefit concerts (the first one occurring November 8th @ Coach House!), selling prayers bracelets, and coming up with lots of cool ways to help. Read below for all of the juicy details...

"Beat It Wally!" Bracelet *BEAT IT WALLY BRACELETS*

The one and only Ms. Paula O'Rourke (Wally's band member in Eric Burdon & The Animals) has designed these cool "Beat It Wally!" bracelets to help rally support and donations for the Wally Ingram benefit fund. Here are some words from Paula:

While we scramble with our feeling of the incredible injustice of Wally's illness, I thought support bracelets would be one way that we can support and focus our thoughts, prayahs and love to dah Ingrams! I have a Paypal account set up and will have donations sent straight to a "Beat it Wally!" Ingram fund. Please send donations (any little bit will help - suggesting $10/per) to the Paypal account www.paypal.com (my e-mail address - paulatiny@yahoo.com), send me your address and I will get the bracelets out to you.

We plan to make a few different designs (Packers, Rasta) depending on the response. If you don't feel comfortable with Paypal, we will accept checks as well. Please e-mail Paula with bracelet requests!

Im not sure who wally is, but always a bummer to hear that a musician is sick, hold your head up high and defeat the beast.
