Sigur Ros: 'Fjogur Piano' Video

Sigur Ros are delighted to reveal the third film in their Mystery Film Experiment series, which has seen a dozen filmmakers receiving the same modest budget to create whatever comes into their head when listening to songs from the band's new U.S. and UK top 10 album Valtari.

The third film sees acclaimed director Alma Har'el producing a film to accompany the album's final track, "Fjögur Píanó." The stunning video stars Shia LaBeouf, and features "a man and woman locked in a never-ending cycle of addiction and desire." "Fjögur Píanó" is Har'el's first project since winning "Best Documentary Feature" at last year's Tribeca Film Festival for her outstanding debut Bombay Beach. Watch the video below and read a Q&A with the director via the Wall Street Journal here.

Says the band's bassist Georg Holm, "We really had no idea what to expect from Alma. Originally she was going to film us on super 8 in Iceland all playing the piano lines from the song, but then she rang and said she'd met Shia LaBeouf and they'd changed the idea, that was the last we heard of the concept and she told us nothing about what was going on. At first I didn't know what to make of the video, because it is so full of ideas and confusion, but now I completely love it. It seems to have no beginning and no end, and just makes you think about what might and might not be going on. It's a puzzle and I think it's absolutely amazing."

Har'el's "Fjögur Píanó" film follows films by Ragnar Kjartansson (for the track 'Ég Anda") and Inga Birgisdóttir (for "Varúd") – both are also available to view at
