I am flying out to Memphis for Trey at the New Daisy Theatre in Memphis. I know the promoter is independent and I think the venue is also. I am super psyched to see Trey delivering to some of his most deadicated fans in an intimate venue. I think for this tour Trey is touring with drummer Jeff Sipe or Apt-Q258, formerly of Aquarium Rescue Unit and Leftover Salmon. He is one of my favorite drummers, he is slammin'. Looking forward for some fun. Thankful to have a ticket.

no worries man.....you are right though he played with them at the legendary beacon show with phil and trey in feb of 06. which i thought was a legendary show. I heard trey had a lot of fun playing with the jazzt sipe and its one of the reasons he picked him up for this tour after treys drummer got sick. Sipe has been busy though you are right, playing with rogers and herring. I think sipe is a great addition to treys band. I may even go see the webster hall shows now, if i can get a tix for 20 bucks or so outside the venue.

has anyone heard bar 17? i love trey and phish have been one of my favorites of all time, next to the grateful dead and john coltrane, but that album bored me. Goodbye Head is a really good tune and loved it over the summer with mike and the duo, but i thought it sounded weak. trey is one/or the best guitar player in the business today, but i think this album is a disappointment. i liked shine, not every song, but it was good overall. i would take any phish album anyday over bar 17 (even the last two album that sounded like it was thrown together to finish a contract). i love ya trey, but the new Mule and WSP albums sound much more rockin' that's just my opinion. are Phish ever going to play again or do i just need to move on? i loved what i heard playing with Phil, but i can only do so many acoustic Wilson's (it's fun at first, but just not even close to the same thing) and sweet dreams melinda c'mon. i need a divided sky or a Llama or something. peace.

i agree that the vibe of a live show is the best, but phish have made some reall great albums. Junta of course is awesome. i also personally love Rift and you have to listen to it in order in its' entirety. what about pictures of nectar and billy breathes. all great. farmhouse and story of a ghost aren't bad either. what else is left, beside the two new ones, lawnboy. they are all good in my opinion. bar 17 is weak. sorry trey, i still love ya.

andrew...i heard Jeff Sipe was going to play drums....a big deal to the old school. he played in ARU with Bruce Hampton, Jimmy Herring (the Dead, Allmans ect..) and Oteil Burbridge. one of the best bands EVER! Jeff is a monster! he was also in Leftover Salmon for a while...

if anyone is wondering who the real Wilson is i will tell you this...he is alive and well in Boulder and he is getting a fat reach around from an old friend on this tour! any way...this peice of work has a sidekick...the little sidekick managed a Phish tribute act at a point a few years back.... i find this amusing because he also stood in my face a few years ago RIGHT INFRONT OF THE FOX WHERE OTHERS COULD HEAR HIM bragging LOUDLY about how he partied soooo hard with Trey and thinks Trey is a huge asshole....the little turd will be grinnin in treys face at the gig...go back to scalping tickets at giants stadium, skumbag!

hey boulder heads - I got a blowup doll looks (smells) just like Phix's mom...anyone wanna spend some time with her at the Broker? she squeeks almost as loud as the real thing! dont front on her because she is a 'tribute'.

kids....say whatever....... trey has earned an opperetunity to do what he wants! he has proven alot to my ears for a long time and i dont think he ever really promised anyone 100% satisfaction for our entertainment dollar!

I just got tix for the 9:30 Club, sweet! I saw Trey with the horns back in the day and it was an excellent show. Sure, the Trey bands are not Phish, but they are still plenty good. To tell the truth, Phish was not that good towards the end. I enjoyed GRAB and Serialpod (saw them both live) more then most post-hiatus Phish. To each their own I guess. Tea Leaf Green is also playing the NOVA on the 29th, see ya at the shows!

udsh - hey. all kidding around aside. and seriously. why not just decide to join in and have fun and let the experience just happen to you and let it become your part of your reality

your negative energy cant be good for you and your crewe. it sounds like you guys are having a bummer trip and i hope you find this story well:

we had a buddy who we used to go see live shows with - but he became such an adamant critic literally picking apart "this and that" about "this" song and "that" riff and "this" show and "that" set .... it became so distracting and annoying we started just ditching him at home.

it was sad, while we tried to help him, he couldnt snap out of his own ego masterbation, thinking his expectations on reality should be one way or another

and most silliest part of it all was that he was so busy wailing baby that he would often totally MISS what was really being put out there and sadly his mind was just not able to understand it yet. and even worse, after we ditched him, he sat at home and he missed out on some sickest of times

more hiliariously, i vividly remember him talking shit that jerry band was doing acoustic sets during a big run we did on tour once. he actually would leave the venue in a huff and he missed all of this just incredible shit.

years later, i totally busted him being a punk and bragging that he saw these shows to try to impress some old bag he was desparately trying get with too. LOLOLOL

so, here's my point - ITS ALL GOOD silly and you are the only one to blame for letting yourself ruining it for yourself.

do i think every show is a good one....of course i do -
they are gifts from the heavens and we are so lucky to be alive and in these moments

do you know that BOB DYLAN was booed off stage and called satin when he went electric...and people walked out when miles davis found 'fusion'....how embarassing for them

right now, the music scene is channeling the sickest shit of legendary propotions and CHANGE and hopefully it wont take us years to "get it"

and what a gift you were given, my friend - the rare oportunity to gather with your crewe and in one week see and hear 3 GODS. you are one lucky bad-ass!!!

and at the very worst, 20 years from now - you can use your experience at trey as a pick up line in some airport bar....(just joking)

so sorry to bag you, but seriously, you gotta gotta stop doing yourself in and being a bummer... and stick around, this all this shit is good shit.

i am not trying to argue but you don't get it. i like 90% of the live music i see. sorry but trey band is in the 10% that i think sucks. the last thing in the world that i am worried about it my "crewe" ditching me. we roll deep and don't turn our backs on each other, unlike you. jerry acoustic and trey acoustic are 2 different things. how much of the jerry acoustic was dead shit, not that much. trey acoustic, at least half phish songs. thats all i got for you. if your ever in north carolina i'll buy u a beer. peace
