Moonshine Still
October is just about here and Moonshine Still will be returning to the Midwest for a slew of dates including another very special "Moon Groove" performance with Perpetual Groove at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO on Wednesday October 11th. Then they're off to Madison, WI for a performance atRathskellar/Terrace @ University of Wisconsin/Madison. This Halloween MsS fans are in for a real TREAT! Local favorites Bling The Children Back Home, Classic City Breaks and special guest MCs Tommy Valentine and Son 1 (of the Renegadez) will join Moonshine Still to present an evening that will be chocked full of ghouls, souls, beats and rock 'n roll! This musical exploration will see various inter-genre collaborations topped off by special appearances by Bboy Quic and The FunkLordz. Quic and his crew of break dancers have performed with, and opened for artists such as Jurassic 5, Kanye West and Talib Kweli. Concert goers will experience an All Hallow's Eve unlike any other neighborhood trick-or-treat.

Come November Moonshine Still will be taking part in a couple of choice fall festivals such as the Sweetwater Festival (Milledgeville, GA) and Down On The Farm III (Quincy, FL) before heading west at the end of the month to hit Colorado for a few dates on their way out to CA. The Sweetwater Festival is a celebration for the Middle Georgia area and the music is sure to be amazing as it marks the first time in a number of years that Moonshine Still and Perpetual Groove will be performing together for a rare "MoonGroove" set in the Southeast - Sweetwater Festival Music Line-Up: Moonshine Still/Perpetual Groove/"MoonGroove"/Tinsley Elis/Corey Harris and others. Weak on the sauce? I couldn't disagree more. These guys are the up-and-coming jamband of the future. They are nasty and have developed their own sound of funk/disco/electronic/rock/hip-hop. They've got nasty covers like Dr. Octagon's "Earth People" and are leaders in the hip-hop/jamband fusion movement. Check 'em out!

MsS is definitely a band who is heading in the right direction, if I do say so myself. Granted they have had a drummer change in the past 6 months, but Jon has come in on set and really keep the old sound there while adding to the new sound-mix they are bringing. MsS jams hard but still adds inspiring lyrics to move the soul. Go see live music and make a point to experience it for yourself. You'll be hangin'on for a ride.

I've been on this train for going on a decade and it just keeps getting better. These guys are scoring new fans everywhere they go. The sound evolves, keeping things fresh... but they stay true to themselves at the same time. This ain't your typical jamband. They are also very different from PGroove. But the Moongroove combinations are always crazy. Love it. Go see a show.

Funny thing abour MsS and Pgroove is that they seem to play everywhere but Atlanta, even though both bands are from GA. Problem is, they were overexposed, and people in the ATL have a been-there-done-that view on these bands. But I am glad to see that they are enjoying success outside of Atlanta, with the help of booking agents that are more like miracle workers.
