Tea Leaf Green
The Bay Area rockers are also playing two very special performances in San Francisco this Friday (9/29) and Saturday (9/30). On Friday they will take the stage at the Great American Music Hall for a unique acoustic show. It will be a slightly stripped down set-up to showcase their more sensitive, poetic songwriting skills. They've only donned this set-up a few times in the past, and all previous performances have been remarkable. Flying Other Brothers open.

On Saturday night they will return to The Fillmore for the third time (second time headlining) for a full-on rock show. The last show at The Fillmore was clear evidence that this young band is capable of making the leap to bigger rooms. Zack Hexum opens.

Tea Leaf Green is also releasing their first official live project, a DVD and CD titled, Rock 'N' Roll Band on October 31st. Busting out of a revitalized San Francisco music scene, TLG's, Rock 'N' Roll Band (SCI Fidelity Records), captures lightening in a bottle.

Available separately in both CD & DVD formats, the film joins the band for an evening performance at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado and offers an intimate look at a day in the life of a young rock band on the rise. For the DVD, director Justin Kreutzmann, son of The Grateful Dead's Billy Kreutzmann, provides both a snapshot of where the band is today and clear evidence of where they are headed tomorrow. Part concert film, part documentary, Rock 'N' Roll Band balances blazing live performances with private moments of artful reflection and presents the magic that is Tea Leaf Green for all to enjoy. Just one viewing will be enough to assure you that rock 'n' roll never died.

Yes they are really good. Solid piano playing, strong guitar solos, its really good rock. Most surprisingly, the lyrical content of their songs are very very well thought out and have substance. There is soul to the vocals as well. Do not give up on liking TLG until u see them live. The live show is the way to get in touch with what TLG is all about.. peace ya'll..

My favorite lyrics of any band I've loved since The Dead, but with the energy and peaks of a young Phish. Can't wait to see 'em again! Such a great energy around this band!

This band is the best live act out there right now. If you haven't seen them live, you don't know what you are missing! This is the only band that I have seen that has the same tension and release jamming ability that Phish had. I'm not necessarily saying that they sound like Phish, because they don't in my opion, but they have that special something that allows them to build a jam to a level that you think can't go any higher, and then they take you even higher and higher, before bringing you back down from the stratosphere. If you have missed the face melting jams that have been gone since the exit of Phish, then you must do yourself a favor and go see Tea Leaf Green. There is no substitute!

I disagree w/ dwebb1 when he/she says that TLG doesn't sound like Phish. I don't think their songwriting is Phishy, but I think the jams they get into definitely sound like Phish jams. Plus, I always tend to feel like their guitar player isn't kicking enough ass - he's certainly a good guitar player, but he doesn't blow me away. Of course, I've only seen them 3 times . . .

Great article and a lot of positive comments for a band that certainly derserves it. I've watched this band work itself up in the Bay Area and aside from being fantastic songwriters, they rip and they are totally nice on open armed kind people.

Choloupka. I have spent 100's of nights in front of Jerome, Trey, Carlos and about every player on the jam cicuit. Josh is a monster, maybe you went to the wrong three shows but in the 10-20 shows I went to he scared some people and made a gargantuan impression on me. They are only a few Bay Area guitar players who can even hang with Josh Clark. Dan Leibowitz (ALO), Eric Mcfadden (EMT) and Phil Mcgee(7th Direction) and a small handfull, Will Bernard of course, Jeff from New Monsoon too. But I have to vouch for TLG and Josh Clark. They rock and His chops with Trevors songs is why. Go see more Tea Leaf Choloupka, I'm totaly sure you'll get some of what I got.

Dicky 79 they play acoustic in SF time to time under the name Coffe Bean Brown. It's more of a showcase of Trevors songwriting, it's acousticy though Ben plays electric Bass Still, light drums, but no it's not a joke at all. When theyre not frickin shredding electric shows they can play nice sweet songs you can sit and enjoy, it's nice to hear they're taking that act on the road, it's impressive.

Dicky the ram's head in naptown is a sit down venue. no dancing is allowed. you sit, chill, enjoy one of the most relaxed atmoshperes ever, and have a waitress serve you dank brews or soda if that's your thing. If you're a tlg fan I'm sure you won't be disappointed

11/11 Variety Playhouse Atlanta GA WITH NEW MONSOON! Overall this will be a good twin bill. So how many shows are they doing with New Monsoon? This is a rare chance to see two great west coast acts. Atlanta people don't usually support out of town bands until they get really big, so ATL peeps need to represent.
