Eric Clapton & J.J. Cale - The Road to Escondido
 J.J. Cale |
Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale are set to release their first original album together, The Road to Escondido, November 7 on Reprise. The 14 songs feature 11 Cale originals, one Clapton original, a John Mayer song and a cover of "Sporting Life Blues."
Clapton scored big with Cale's "After Midnight" and "Cocaine," and the two have long had a strong bond. The two guitarists/singers/songwriters decided to record an original album together after performing side-by-side at Clapton's 2004 Crossroads guitar festival in Dallas.
"This was the realization of what may have been my last ambition -- to work with the man who's music has inspired me for as long as I can remember," Clapton says.
