The Breakfast
Jammy Award winning outfit The Breakfast are proud to release their fifth album this fall. Moxie Epoxy is the second release for the band on HMG Recordings and will be available in stores on October 31, 2006.

The new album features nine tracks from guitarist Tim Palmieri, bassist Ron Spears, drummer Adrian Tramontano and departing keyboardist Jordan Giangreco. The band is continuing as a trio for the current time and Moxie Epoxy features the last studio recordings with Giangreco. The track listing is:"Psygn," "Future Peek," "Honey Butter," "Good Things," "Surreal Radio," "Tricky Ways," "Intention," "The Late And The Great" and "Overexposure."

Although Moxie Epoxy won't be in stores until October 31, the band wants to give their dedicated fans the option to purchase the CD before the street date. Moxie Epoxy will be available for sale at the bands shows beginning on September 27, in Harrisburg, PA. This marks the kick off of the band's fall tour. The Breakfast will return home for their CD release party and "Fongoulish Freakout" Halloween bash at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT on October 27. Buyers can also pre-order the CD beginning on September 27 through www.thebreakfast.net and www.hmgrecords.com.

I will give them another chance. Their last album was crap.
The last time they came to my town, they opened for the Big Wu, and me and my friends likened their music to Punishment, more than groovy tunes. When their set was over, I felt like I had been beaten up. We saw the whole set, and it was not cool. Maybe they have progressed some, I will give them one more try. Peace, Ya'll

I couldn't agree with you more. Don't bother giving them another chance. They are the epitome of noodly. Yawn

I'm not particularly fond of most of The Breakfast's past albums, however that doesn't stop them from being my favorite band, or what I consider to be the most talented band you can pay money to see, or further, expecting huge things out of this album due to thier hugely improved song writing talents, better production capability due to way more financial support, and a fresh start for a band already on the run. That said, I'm not doubting you guys, I remember I saw a Breakfast show once that I didn't dig... once

The Breakfast are the best band touring right now. Their musical prowess is leaps and bounds above anyone else I have every seen on stage. Their connection on stage is unreal, they know each others in and outs withou even thinking. Amazing musicans with amazing energy. GO SEE THE BREAKFAST!!

i can definitely say that i'm looking forward to listening to this album. i've heard all of the songs played live that are on the track list and expect the studio recordings to come out well. if you haven't checked out the band before, be sure to look into some of their older stuff as well (i.e. deuce). there are tons of great shows up on archive.org, for instance, 4/22/06 at the middle east. as far as the songs on moxie epoxy go, i am not a huge fan of surreal radio or good things. i think that honey butter, future peak, psygn and intension will be the gems on this album.

The Breakfast is the sickest band touring these days, regularly owning faces at their concerts with their virtousity and heady jams. Having said that, I didn't really care for their last album "Real Radio". To me it didn't really capture how talented the band is... and the studio sound quality seemed weird to me. But I really think Moxie Apoxie is going to be their best album since Duece, and hopefully even better. Their are some rockin tracks on this upcoming album and I've only heard good things from even the most critical of my fellow fans.

Oh yeah, Breafast shows ain't naptime folks hahaha

All I have to say is that I am an older fan. I saw the dead, went through two VW buses on Phish tour for years and never have i had the ambition to chase a band around as much as Tim, Adrian ,and Ron. I would go across the country and back to rock out with them. Best band on the planet! Hands down. Like they say Jerry was a God, Trey was a jedi, but Tim is a wizard!!!!!! Anybody who plays guitar should go back to there parents bedroom and practice again until they can play as well as Tim Palmeiri. Otherwise don't waste our time until you can incorporate 64th notes in the middle of what is already an incredibly fast and articulate solo. Even their roadcrew thinks that the new album will blow "deuce"(their second album) out of the water!! Go see The Breakfast and if you pay attention you will be amazed!!! They headlined the first night of 10KLF this year. What more do you need to know?

From the sample mp3's on www.thebreakfast.net Moxie Epoxy seems to be the crowning glory of the 4 piece band that started as Psychedelic Breakfast.
I really thought their last album Real Radio was the start of the mature songwriting that will be evidenced on this album.
I know having this album will help me through the"trio era" of The Breakfast.

Hell YEAH! Can't wait to pick this one up! ive heard all these songs live and i agree that honey butter, psygn and intension are the heavy hitters here. being from ct the breakfast has definatly been the "house band" that plays the soundtrack to my life these past few years. I will miss Jordan and his contributions to the band, but i think that without him on keys the trio is tighter and more in your face. anyone who has never seen these guys, you must catch them on this tour...they could be exactly what you're searching for. p.s. - FREAKOUT AT TOADS PLACE THIS YEAR!!!!BE THERE!!!!

I'll be the first one to admit that The Breakfasr aren't for everyone. But if you are a fan of the kind of musical pyrotechnics that made The Mahavishno Orchestra successgul, check them out.

As to them being noodly.....I'll have to toally disagree on that one. But I certainly can understand how a Big Wu fan might not dig them.....its like an herbal tea fan getting hit with Jolt Cola.

Those of you that have been interested in the band but not sold...thid could be the record for you. Much more mature songwriting, much better vocals....plus the same adventurous musical spirit. Most of the songs are 7 plus minutes with the jams totally intact, culminating in "The Late and The Great" and "Overexposure" tandem which tops out at 19 minutes.

This one will knock the breakfast up the food chain.

I'll be the first to admit that The Breakfast aren't for everyone. But for those of you that love the kinfhard progressive jamming that made the mahavishnu Orchestra popular in its day...this record is for you. Following the path of Real Radio, the songwriting and vocals have grown tremendously, but the CD jams much harder. Most of the songs time out at eight or nine minutes, and the duo of "The Late and the Great" and "Overexposure" are the epic fans have been waiting for.

It's called jamming - that's what the Breakfast do and it is freaking awesome. Definitely the best band in America right now. Who needs 3 minute songs when these guys have the most explosive high energy jams on the planet? It would be like giving Picasso a 3 inch canvas to paint on.

I'd just like to say that my band was recently fortunate enough to be able to open for the Breakfast at the Northstar Bar in Philly. We were all really excited and hyped up for the gig, but to our dissapointment, with the exception of the drummer and guitar player, everyone working in or associated with this band was a complete asshole for no reason. the sound guy thought he was the hottest thing ever, but in reality, wasnt even in the band. The guitar player was extremely nice and an open musician, but the ridiculous attitudes of the rest of the crew was enough to piss us off for the whole night. screw you breakfast crew

perhaps if you showed up on time being the opening band and all you would have gotten a little friendlier response from the crew who was waiting for you to be able to set up

That's really unfortunate that you had such a bad experience. I can tell you that from my experience, it's in the best interest for a young band such as yourself to voice your concern with the band directly and to not air dirty laundry on the internet. If you had a problem with the way The Breakfast crew conducted themsleves you should have emailed the band direcly. That would've been a much more appropriate forum to handle such a situation rather than a jambase message board.

sorry derekw, but you have no clue what you are talking about. First off, we WERE on time. Second, we sat there watching their set up and soundcheck, they weren't waiting on the opening band to come ontime, we were already there. And from what i remember... as someone said to the sound guy that they should hurry up so they other bands could do a sound check, he said fuck the opening bands who gives a shit. So stop talking out of your ass and i can justify what JakeLes said because the entire band really were assholes, minus the guitarist, or they just thought they were a hotshit band who was headlining so they just didnt give a fuck about the other performers. Thats a bad attitude from my point. We got an idea of their personalities at the show so maybe thats the reason we didnt talk to them directly, because they would have had some tough guy comment to say back and been real immature. So derek...just stop talking.

The point is that you are the one being immature by coming on here and voicing your problems. Very unprofesional, talk to them about it, no need to air dirty laundry with internet balls. What are you accomplishing here?
