Backyard Tire Fire
OIE Records is proud to announce two new albums from the distinctive, pan-genre Chicago rock & roll trio, Backyard Tire Fire. October 17th will mark the release of an exclusive six song EP, Skin and Bones. The EP will be for sale digitally through iTunes, eMusic, and Rhapsody as well as at concerts where a limited edition run of CDs will be available. This will be followed by a new full length release on January 30th, 2007 named Vagabonds and Hooligans.

Backyard Tire Fire will hit the road in support of the EP, opening for Virginia Coalition in September and October and Will Hoge in October and November. Two EP release shows in their home state are scheduled at Chicago's Double Door and Bloomington, IL's Castle Theater in October.

Like their predecessors, the EP and LP were co-produced by BTF and Tony SanFilippo with organic, old-school immediacy, utilizing the vintage early-'70s 3M tape machine (a la the Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street) and gear housed at SanFilippo's proudly-analog Oxide Lounge Recording studio in Bloomington. The albums were recorded and mixed over the past ten months during breaks from their rigorous tour schedule which found them sharing bills with artists like Son Volt, James McMurtry, Alejandro Escovedo, Railroad Earth, Apollo Sunshine, Jackie Greene, Cold War Kids and The Mother Hips.

The new recordings will continue to showcase Backyard Tire Fire's diverse rock & roll stylings that have drawn comparisons to wide ranging artists like Neil Young, R.E.M., Graham Parsons, and the Rolling Stones. Songwriter Ed Anderson's lyrics will still be a major focus of the tunes as he continues to grow as a writer known for honest, insightful words that connect with the everyman. Find out this fall why critics and rock fans alike are raving about Backyard Tire Fire.

This is awesome, congratulations guys. Used to see Ed in Brother Jed and that solo period in Asheville. Glad to see you guys are really making it. Can't wait to see the Boston show, I might even be able to make it to Higher Ground for this.
