Patti Smith, Phil Lesh, Philip Glass, Rosanne Cash, Cat Power, Lee Renaldo Project, Medeski Martin & Wood, Natalie Merchant, Warren Haynes & Gov't Mule, Al Kooper & The Funky Faculty and Chris & Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes are all confirmed to play The Music of Bob Dylan (one cover each) at Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center) in NYC on November 9, 2006. It's a benefit for the Music for Youth Foundation produced by Michael Dorf who also did the Joni Mitchell tribute show at Carnegie Hall.
The Music for Youth Foundation (MFY) is a community of concerned members of the music industry, corporate sponsors and the general public who are alarmed at the disappearance of music programs in the public schools, and who recognize the important role music plays in each student’s development. Find out more about MFY’s goals, history and achievements through our grant program. Find out how you can make a difference and “give music back” by joining us in our efforts at the Music for Youth Foundation.
