The hottest venue this summer used to be one of the coolest. McCarren Park Pool in Brooklyn, NY has over 10 shows left on its schedule with todays adding of The Shins on Aug 23rd and The Slip with Dead Meadow and Mobius Band on the 16th of July.
McCarren Park Pool is the brain child of JellyNYC who had this to say about this summers concert series. "Every Sunday afternoon from July 9th through September 3rd, you and some of the best bands and DJs from Brooklyn and beyond will sweat together in the city's most spectacular new venue — the 50,000 foot refurbished ruins of a community pool."
"As at any good pool party, there will be plenty to get you hot and keep you cool: when you're not pogoing, you can try your hand at full-court dodgeball, get a cold cup of Brooklyn's finest, grab a burger from the hut, set up a towel and tan your tatoos, or slide your way down a 27-ft inflatable slip n’ slide."
Other notable shows going on at the Pool include the Yeah Yeah Yeah's/Sonic Youth two night run on the 11th and 12th of Aug, the Apollo Sunshine/Deerhoof feakout on the 13th and the Gov't Mule/Two Gallants love fest on the 9th of Sept.
