The Everyone Orchestra, an interactive improvisational experience known for its’ benefit shows and festival superjams, is hitting the road for a short tour. The four Northern California dates will include feature guitar superstar Steve Kimock with conductor Matt Butler, guitarist Chris Haugen (Axis Brothers), Zilla’s Jamie Janover, Mojow and the Vibration Army and more.

Traditionally, the composition of the Orchestra is a revolving roster of all-star artists, and the impetus for the tour – four dates with the same cast, has evolved out of numerous one off dates when the cast of musicians and the audience is left hungry for more. “Often, the group is just starting to really hit its’ stride together, and then the shows are over. Short tours like this one, and others in the works, will allow the musicians to stretch themselves and the boundaries of the improvisational games we play,” says Butler who is also the founder of the group.

What makes Everyone Orchestra performances stand out from other jamband collaborations is the conducting. Butler, along with several others, facilitate the interactive jams using giant cue cards and projections which direct the musicians and audience alike.

The list of previous members of The Everyone Orchestra reads like a who’s who of jamband music and beyond including members of The Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese Incident and Derek Trucks, experimental guitar legend Adrian Belew and a growing legion of other stellar players.

EO shows are amazing. The past few were unreal experiments in taking improvisation to a whole new level. Seeing Matt conduct Adrian Belew and Jimmy Herring while Darol Anger fiddled on top was pure bliss.
(a little boomy, but you get the idea!)

Wish I could make it to the coast for these EO shows...But hopefully the rest of the country will see the Everyone Orchestra at 10,000 Lakes!

If the recent EO shows in Portland are any indication, this run is going to be off the hook. Wish I could make it down... but CA deserves it too, so enjoy the shows!

10,000 Lakes looks like the fest of fests this summer... Trey/Gordo/Duo, Phil, SCI, UM, TLG... adding EO to that mix is icing on the cake.

HIGHLY recommended! We (JamCam) have had the chance to work with EO on two occasions now, and both were amazing. Matt Butler is a true visionary, and a helluva guy to boot.
