Welcome all fans to Minnesota Country where quality sounds are invading in the upcoming weeks. Toss off those snow shoes and bring your grooving toes on over to The Quest on February 1st, to witness the SnoCore Icicle Ball with headlining act Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. Colonel Claypool invites Galactic, Lake Trout and Drums & Tuba, on this tour, each act possessing a unique and positive sound. This show will melt all of our frozen souls, as this begins the first day of February all over the country, but warms only those who don't flock south.
Six days later, February 7th, 2001, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe will open a whole new cosmos, again at the famed, Quest. Anyone down for a whirlwind of Jazz, the Universe is circling snowy Minneapolis.
On February 16th, the All Mighty Senators will be transmitting space signals at the one and only Cabooze, the Minnesota Mecca de Local and Worldwide Jazz, Blues and Reggae. Take a bus, cab or spaceship to this event; it's a guaranteed combustion function.
The three weeks of extraterrestrial tunes only gently melts the Minnesota icebergs, so our boys, THE BIG WU, can make it home safely for three nights of bliss. On Thursday, February 22nd, all of you kiddies (no offense, you know us adults keep a gentle watchful eye over you) can join the boys at the Cedar Cultural Center. Wu heads over 21 must wait for the next two nights, but the wait is more than worth, as the WU returns to an original stomping ground, the Cabooze. I don't need to offer an invite to any locals, but those wanting to break through state lines, go for it! The Big Wu will be a name that echoes through the ages...
Be happy, be alive,
