LIVEWIRE RECORDINGS SIGNS DEVON ALLMAN'S HONEYTRIBE
TORCH SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE ON AUGUST 29, 2006

Devon Allman - Honeytribe
ATLANTA, GA - Livewire Recordings has signed Devon Allman's HONEYTRIBE to an exclusive recording agreement as it was announced today by Colin Cobb, President Livewire Recordings. Honeytribe, fronted by Devon Allman (son of Gregg Allman) will release their Livewire debut, Torch, on August 29th, 2006.

HONEYTRIBE is a passionate, guitar-driven rock band based in St. Louis. Allman fronts the band on vocals and guitar and is joined by an ensemble cast of A-list musicians, including George Potsos on bass, Jack Kirkner on Hammond B3 and piano, and Mark Oyarzabal on drums. Fans of artists such as Santana, BB King, ZZ Top, The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic and Gov't Mule will enjoy this genuine feel good music from the soul, for the soul.

Torch is a collection of 11 songs, and was recorded at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis. Devon Allman co-produced the record with Pete Matthews (Paul Simon, North Mississippi Allstars), who also mixed the tracks.

"We are honored and excited to be working with Devon and Honeytribe. They are an amazing live band and are true recording artists," said Colin Cobb, President Livewire Recordings. "Aside from studio albums, we will be releasing a series of live records. Devon and his band genuinely live up to the Allman name."

Devon comments, "Livewire Recordings is a label that prides itself on making the music come first. The short sightedness of major labels with soul-less corporate structures made me seek out a company that wants to do things the right way."

Livewire Recordings is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and is distributed by Ryko Distribution.

I caught part of their set at Wannee this year, and he definitely has the soulfullness and passion of his father. I'll be staying tuned in for more on this up and coming band.

These guys are great! I've seen them several times, including Wanee and the now famous Wanee campsite jam. Do yourself a favor and get the new CD "Torch" when it comes out on Aug. 29 and go see these guys live! Everyone of these guys is super talented! And yes, Jack is quite passionate! :)

Just saw Devon and Honeytribe in Rochester. WOW. What a band. Do yourself a favor and see them while you can still do it in smaller venues. Devon and the band were super accessible to the fans after the show. What a good bunch of guys! Catch the "TRIBE VIBE"

Devon & The Tribe are just great! The music is in the grove and the lyrics are very real and ring true. Having just won the Honeytribe Les Paul here on Jambase and getting a call and lots of email from Devon, I can also say he's a great guy! BTW, poeple DO win, this guitar sings!!!!

Just met Devon Allman for first time last weekend, spoke a fair amount throughout weekend with him as he was very much out there to meet people during breaks and after the shows - very engaging young man. Devon and Honeytribe opened for Dickey Betts, with Pedro Arevalo (Dickey's bass player - one of the best musicians I've seen in a while and key to Dickey Betts' current success) joining Devon on slide guitar for the opening acts. Nice to see some small history and fence mending being made as Devon invited Duane Betts (Dickey's son) onstage for Midnight Rider during Honeytribe's opening act on the second of two nights at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut on June 22, 2008. Dickey returned the favor by inviting Devon Allman onstage later to play guitar and sing lead on One Way Out. Devon Allman is a real gem, striking similarity to father Gregg in looks, but a much better vocalist (my opinion, Devon's voice is beautiful - a little like Stevie Winwood, a bit like his dad Gregg, a little like Robert Cray) and his guitar playing is top notch - far better than Derek Trucks or Duane Betts, again, my opinion, but I have been playing guitar for 35 plus years and listening with a keen ear for as long. I have been watching and listening in person to all of these guys associated with the old Allman Brothers band for years. What a complete pleasure to see and hear Devon Allman - finally a pleasant surprise from this bunch. GO SEE HIM!!
