JamBase | Joshua Tree Go See Live Music!

So many reviews, especially festival reviews, sound the same. I liked the different angles here, where we got insight from the organizer and a standout musician. Plus, I adore Rajiv Parikh, both as a stellar player and human being, so I was happy to see him get some attention. It sounds like a softly magical experience in Joshua Tree. Not without it's appeal.
I met Andrew Wyatt as he was entering the festival and knew right away that he was the perfect person to document the wonderful experience of the Joshua Tree Music festival. I really enjoyed re-living the experience of the festival through Andrews words and pictures. I look forward to reading his accounts of other festivals.
I loved Andrew's photos, the rich swirling images and compositions really represented the feel of the Joshua Tree Music Festival--nice job! It was a wonderful weekend of diverse music and a happy, friendly crowd who felt like one giant family--Andrew did a nice job to highlight the great efforts of Barnett English to open up this hidden jewel in the desert to a world of music, and yes, a bit of Mad Max as well!
Spectacular writing and photography! First rate journalism! Thanks AndrewJohn Smrtic
amazing photography!
A magical mystery musical tour....in the words of Suess...`If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good'. I left Joshua Tree with a new favourite band (Samantha) and a sense of the community Andrew mentions. What a special part of the planet. So, take the Dr's advice...if you haven't been, go!
Yes- Wyatt captured the amazing feeling of JTMF in his review! A few of my fav's were Thrift Store All Stars (loved the dog hangin out onstage) and Anders Osborne --WOW! I saw him play many moons ago in a bowling alley in New Orleans...and of course, the transcendent Mapfumo...reminded me of Miles Davis...ps - the food is GREAT!! grilled salmon w/carmelized plaintains!!!! Now thats what I call festival food!
