The String Cheese Incident
The String Cheese Incident announces tour plans for the months ahead. Look for the band on both coasts, and in between, with special musical guests joining them at various stops along the way. Summer tour highlights include Fourth of July weekend at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Bob Weir & Ratdog, Keller Williams and Taj Mahal. The band will stop for a couple shows in Alaska on their way to the tenth annual Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. The tour will wrap up with a three night blow out at the beautiful Cuthbert Ampitheater in Eugene, Oregon. SCI is looking forward to collaborating with PEAK Experience Productions for those shows. Texas? at least you guys have a show that's within 100 miles. Can't say that for the southeast. I mean geez...not even coming to Atlanta or Raleigh or Charlotte? What's up with that? Maybe they are going to make it up to us in the Fall.

Yes! Glad to see they are coming to the west coast! The Santa Margarita show is quite a surprise. Anyone know why they chose this location? Maybe because it is low profile. That town won't know what hit them! What a trip. I will have to try and make it to that one. Definitely the LA Show! Thanks Cheese! You guys RULE!!!!

I am super psyched SCI is back on the road. They bring a better vibe than ANY other band out there. But I am very down about their end of the summer "blow out". There is no camping like there was at Hornings. What the F*ck is up with that boys? Why the step backwards?

Yonder Mountain is the only band playing at Hornings this year... they have been having some legal problems related to the festivals they have, something to do with noise/traffic complaints from neighbors I think. It is too bad since it's such a beautiful place to camp, and such a small veneu. Well worth the 10hr drive from BC.

Didn't the cheese already say they weren't doing Hornings anymore? They are getting too big for that place. They may stay away from the camping fests for awhile. Personally, I think it attracts too many people who aren't really into the music, but just want to ride the coat tails of SCI to justify their lazy existence as "tour rats" or whatever they call themselves these days.

SCI is smart. They have learned from the Dead and Phish. If y'all want the cheese to survive as a band, you have to let them do their thing the way they need to do it. If it all gets too big, next thing you know there will be some sort of SCI Coventry. That would suck ass! I would rather them play just a few shows per year than quit forever. Long live the Cheese!!!

I've seen cheese several times and I just flat out think they are overrated. The jams just seem to bounce and noodle without hitting any hardcore grooves or out of town wierdness.

any one notice that the two biggest tours this summer are dead related GRAB with Phil and Cheese with Ratdog, both grab and cheese could have done without but cool beans all the way around. it would have been cooler if cheese toured with GRAB and phil with ratdog, but i love it anyway, just wish more dates . also throw sts9 or bp. or lotus on tour somewhere to complete my summer.

I'll probably head out and see them this summer (not the biggest FoC, but a FoC all the same), but why oh why would they book an indoor venue for a July show (St. Louis @ the Fox - which is a cool place to see a show)... I'd much rather be dancing in the sun and/or rain

As a follow up to jrobisco, LA is even MORE blessed that SD for killer SoCal shows:

6/23 = Santana or Zappa plays Zappa
6/24 = Bela, Keller, and Yonder!
6/25 = String Cheese and Ratdog
(needed day off)
6/27 = Les Claypool
6/29 - 7/1 = Widespread

and this is just in one week! It will be awhile until I can bitch about SoCal getting screwed on good shows! Awww Yeahhh!!!

well the southeast was purposely skipped.. The reason is, last febuary, the turnout at the fox theater in atlanta was very poor!! I was shocked! I thought more ppl in the southeast loved the cheese!! I am very sad about this..
I cant go to any of the northeast, or midwest shows. If they skip atlanta or nashville I am screwed.. What the hell southeast???? I love PANIC too, but SCI, has that nice light bubbly sound the grateful dead had.. This is unfortunate, now I wonder will they ever come back to atlanta again?? Miss the cheese.. sad in chattanooga..

I'm not suprised SCI is skipping over the south. I saw them last fall in Charlotte and Atlanta, both shows were pretty good but also pretty poorly attended. Not to mention in Charlotte the police were inside arresting kids on the spot during the show for smoking which ruined the good vibes.

about the last comment. Your right about the 50 in Charlotte, but there was a pretty good turnout at Ovens and at the FOx in ATL. Not the best shows ever but, still good times. They'll make it aound for the fall. If your a local and are a cheese head I have a feeling that Red Rocks and Eugene are going to be absolutely wild, and probably worth the travel. There will be many traveling long distances for those shows.

hillbilly.... you obviously were wearing ear plugs when you saw them. Why would you even go to a show more than once if you didn't like it. Let those of us that use our ears and minds actually go. Cheese is one of those bands that cross genres boundaries and reality as we know it. If you aren't a listener.... don't listen simple. No need to make false comments. You just stated an opinion. I bet you can't even say anything bad about the shows except ...."I didn't like it, it bored me." That should tell you something right there. At least when I see a band I don't really like I can say something other than complaints. Like a reason....

Cheese blows the mind body and spirit. If you have never witnessed them. Do so now. It is in no way boring... unless you insist it to be....
