Calexico rules. Their collaboration with Iron & Wine should have been in every critics year end top 10 for 2005, but it seems to have been overlooked. Haven't heard the new album in full yet, but the tracks I heard live at their in-store @ Tower in Chicago a coupld weeks ago were great. These guys play music that sounds like no one else. If the desert had a voice, this is what it would sound like...

Calexico seems cool, I picked up their CD with Iron & Wine and it was pretty good. Since then, I've heard a few of their other songs, and they're all pretty good. Its just nice to see a band that actually decides to hit Michigan!

That previous drivel is from the press release. Garbage. Does anyone really think that by saying your band is, "#5 Top Specialty Singles for Cruel and #5 Top Specialty Albums," will sell more records? Tell your damn Grandma that. Fans don't care.

Damn good band. Needs much much much better marketing/management and this has been apparent for several years.

Garden Ruin is best music I've heard in the last 5 years. I only started listening to them after seeing them open for someone else late last year. Nothing currently rivals Garden Ruin or Calexico for that matter. Only thing that comes close is Frank Black's new stuff. This band is for real and they apparently have been for awhile...where was I???
