Buckwheat Zydeco has been selected by the Microsoft Network to be a part of its major New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Package. Buckwheat Zydeco's Saturday, May 6 show will be webcast live and also archived. It should be a huge crowd as Buck goes on in a prime spot right before Jimmy Buffett on the main Acura stage at 3:45 Central time. Buck will also perform as a solo with Paul Simon on the final day as part of the festival's Grand Finale culminating with Fats Domino's highly anticipated return to New Orleans.
Footage of Buck's performance at the 2000 Jazz Festival was THE footage used to preview and promote the MSN coverage.
Also, at last Sunday's Festival International in Lafayette, Louisiana, Buckwheat Zydeco's performance was taped for an upcoming episode of the TV show BBC World to air by July.
MSN announced and promoted its New Orleans Jazz Fest coverage beginning one week before the event. The webcast is noted on three of the MSN pages: MSN music home page, the MSN entertainment home page, and the MSN Video page. Visitors are directed to a "Hub" page. From this page they will have the option to view the webcast, and learn more about the event and the performers.
