TREY ANASTASIO, MIKE GORDON AND THE BENEVENTO/RUSSO DUO TO TOUR THIS SUMMER WITH PHIL LESH & FRIENDS

From Phish.com:

Trey Anastasio
For the first time, Trey and Mike are hitting the road together for over three weeks of dates, including a double bill with Phil Lesh & Friends for ten shows beginning June 28 in Raleigh, N.C. Rounding out the band is The Duo - Marco Benevento on keyboards and Joe Russo on drums. Though Mike has been performing with the Duo on and off for the past three years, the genesis of the group came together earlier this year when Trey asked Mike and the Duo to join him for a recording session at a Brooklyn studio. Suffice to say, the material rocks. In addition to the new songs, the group will also draw on each other's repertoire and beyond.

Trey and Mike's dates with Phil Lesh & Friends follow below. Both bands will play full shows - Trey and Mike will close a handful of shows, and Phil Lesh & Friends will close the rest. In addition, The Benevento/Russo Duo will open each show on their own. We expect to announce up to an additional week of Trey & Mike with the Duo dates sometime shortly.

Tickets will be available through a real time presale beginning Friday, May 5 at NOON EST at http://treytickets.rlc.net. Public on-sales start Friday, May 12. Full show and ticket information will be made available at the tourdates page at Phish.com, www.mike-gordon.com and www.trey.com over the course of this week.

You can't say that Trey hasn't done anything cool since Phish, Oysterhead is nasty. Also, I have to say that the debut of SerialPod at Xmas Jam last December was one of the best shows I saw all year. If you haven't heard it I strongly recommend you check it out. Trey, Mike and the Duo, I'm there.

Rumors of this had been circulating around months ago and I am glad to see they aren't just rumors. If I was in the states I would be at every single show as well, no matter what my other responsibilities were. Guareented sell-outs! Joe could tour by himself and I would go see. I cant think of drums without thinking of this kid. In the time he spent in Boulder he raised the bar for local drummers so high Dave Watts couldnt even touch it! not that anyone in town could have. I think Trey and Mike are pretty lucky. With any luck this will bring the Duo to a place in buisines where they are known as well as MMW. The world deserves this music!

drewernie: It's the foursome. Phish.net has most of the story wrong. They don't even know what radio station it was on. They make it sound like it was on a station in Atlanta, when it was really a sirius station. I heard the interview. He says they will be playing as a 4some.

Very exciting stuff indeed. But I sure hope The Duo doesn't hit MMW heights anytime soon. Not that they don't fully deserve it, but I can see them for under $20 this weekend at the Bowery Ballroom. MMW is charging upwards of $50 for acoustic sets in places with names like the New York Society for Preservation of High Arts and WhatNot. Not that it's not 100% worth it. But gimme SRO Duo any day over MMW in a Society Ballroom. So.....Phish is getting back together when? Is it too soon to vote for Halloween covers? Let's get a thread going on that. I'll just throw one out there....oh I don't know....Sublime - "S/T"! Put that in your pipe and smoke it, hippie.

Trusmoka- while the serialpod show was a bit sloppy, there were some pretty magical moments, especially Trey grooving on Billy's swingin' ass beats (listen to 'Waves' to get an idea what I'm talking about). As for 70 Volt parade, I must agree that they were fucking terrible. I certainly won't shed a tear if I never see Les Hall again in my life or if the song 'Shine' was erased from our collective memory.
As for this tour, I have no doubt that the heat will be brought. Let's have a big Deer Creek party! Maybe we could get a Yonder/Cheese/UM show the day before? Crazier things have happened at that place (2001- Phil/Dylan double bill before 3 nights of Phish, which included the famous 'Moby Dick show) Let get wild!

trusmoka- A fusion of Phish and the Grateful Dead, how can you knock that? Kreutzmann did not mutilate Chalkdust, although I did not think that was the most impressive choice out of all of the Phish covers they could have played. Even though it was evident that they had not played together much (Trey was a little off at times too), there were some spectacular jams and energy that I have not felt in a while. To see Trey and Gordo on the same stage again was very exciting, and Bill Kreutzmann is certainly not a bad choice to round out the trio. SerialPod is a solid collaboration that I would definitely like to see again. That show definitely lit a spark that had been out for a while, and this tour with the Duo will probably set that spark ablaze. Also, even though rumor has it that John Scofield will take the lead guitar seat with Phil and Friends this summer, that show in February at the Beacon was just a reminder of how hot things can get when Trey joins Phil's crew, so hopefully we will get another taste of that this summer. I am definitely very happy to hear that Trey is taking time off the from 70 volt ass parade to do something cool this summer. And as far as Phish getting back together, that is the stuff dreams are made of, let's just keep our fingers crossed.

amich1- In response to hating on the Tabernacle shows...Did you go? B/c what I saw was one of Trey's best solo shows in awhile. Ray was on point, Jen was ripping the vocals, and Dave fuckin Grippo...You must of ate some bad Fluff.....Trey said to a small group of fans out side the Tab. before sound check on Wed (which I was luck enough to be part of) that He was excited about the work he'd done with THE DUO, that they'd recorded some stuff, that joe was amazing, and that they'd do a three week tour...what he also said was this new line-up, of his band would also do a tour....and let me deal everybody....Trey was relaxed, Jen is sick, Tony Hall is better bass, Raymond Weber is a amazing drummer, and Russell's sax and flute.....is band is good....Go See them.....And don't go to the show and yell out for your favorites songs like you do for that local cover bands in that shithole bar your in every friday night...In fact Haters stay home!

Phish "quit" so that everyone would leave them the hell alone. They knew that the masses were depending on them and it was time for the masses to find a home and get a job! If they comeback, it's because they want to. For the love of the music. Simply, for the love. It's not about drugs, it's not about money, it's not about YOU! If everyone spent as much time working on their own music as they did worrying about what four guys from Vermont are doing, there'd be even more good music to go check out.

Garbage. As in these posts I'm reading. The Trey, Gordon, Duo, collaboration may be awesome... I'd expect it to be very good at the least. Anyhow, Phishies...give it up. It's over. It was fantastic while it lasted. It's done, though. If it comes back, well... it'll be as average (at best) as it was the last time it happened. 1997 was 9 years ago. It's done. It's over. Let Trey, Mike, Fish, and Page get on with their lives.

I'm a kid but people went through hell to see "the last show" new name, new band, something. At least a Crusare Rabbit stealth band to keep the 50 away. I'll be waiting in the velvet sea. peace.

i'm thinking "double duo" is the best name suggestion so far.

i can't help but wonder if, while experimenting with that band last summer, trey saw/heard THE TRIO and couldn't resist attempting to join the awesomeness. i CAN'T FRICKIN WAIT for this album.

crossing my fingers that the quartet is the special guest at hunter mountain jam....

This tour just keeps getting better. Scofield and Osby confirmed for Lesh's band. Dates announced tomorrow. I just hope they play a Roseland show so I can go for free. Hey, how about a Prospect Park show in Brooklyn so we can all go for a suggested $3 donation. C'mon Phil, I'm an organ donor. Jam on the River one week, Mountain Jam the next, I better get a job.

I love the duo and phish, but in my opinion gordon makes the duo sound worse, and trey is just over the hill, I mean if you think this album is gonna be good, listen to his last one, if this wins tour of the year im gonna give up on this music, cause if peaple cant move on and listen to new bands there will never be another legendary band like phish, but still it would be nice if this did turn out to be really good peace

heres to the real trey band PHISH,

OK, Listen.... I am sick and tired of people giving Trey a hard time and saying how Phish had "better not" come back. Are you for real? After everything they have given you I think they deserve a little bit more respect than that. As far as Trey goes, if you don't like it, then don't go. Don't buy the ticket just so you can complain about the show later. Oh yeah, and as far as Trey, Mike and the Duo goes... AWESOME.

Lord-K.

I was harsh on Trey after the break-up but he obviously is having some personal problems that he is overcoming. Ever heard of a mid-life crisis?? I think that this was good for Trey to do his own thing and explore what he can and can't do musically he will come around give the man time, respect, and support and I know great things will come of this whole situation. Even though things got ugly (ala coventry and the ripping apart of the trampolines) how much more of a statement can be made. But chill on Trey see what happens. Oh and if Phish does decide to give it another try are you still going to hate Trey so much or will your feelings be subdued...I just hope if this is the case that ticekt prices don;t get too ridiculous. Then I'll start to second guess myself again.

Sweet sassy molassie this ones out of control! PLEASE play the northeast. Makes me a little sad that Trey and Gordo wanna play in a quartet and leave Page and Fishman sitting on their thumbs, but to all those kneeling naked in their bedrooms, praying to their copy of Junta for a reunion... If it happens it happens, and it will be what it will be. Just CHILL! remember what happened last time there was a shit load of preasure for the boys to be the most amazing thing in the world... I almost hope they leave it alone for a lot of years, let the fair weathers destroy themselfs. if they got back together now or in a year it would be more out of hand than last time, and you would need to find a golden ticket in a $100 dollar candy bar to even be entered in the lottery to get a ticket to a Phish show. But it still would be sick to see the boys back together. I don't care what they do i just love Phish, and i have enough tapes and memories to get off to so i'm just gonna let them decide. BUT this summer tour is going to be a rip roaring, foot in a bucket, face in a blender, your mother wears coolats and knee socks, hell of a good time!

it's 5/2 im about to loose it. this is the best tour news ive heard in too long. Phish, just go ahead and play 10 nights at Hampton for $20 a pop so everyone gets a chance to experience it at least a few nights!!!!!!! I think that would smooth over any descrepencies within your outragously devoted fan base that may feel a little let down w/the Covnentry performance after backpacking for 15 miles. I'd do it again. Phish energy is unmatched. Just relax and let it be. We are dying out here!!! long live Phish. Let us gather again!!!

While running this morning, I asked myself, would all you be so critical of Jerry if he were still alive (too good to be true)and wanted to play w/ JGB solely? Remember how blessed you are that the phishibility still exists, and you still get to be a part of the art w/ big red alone or w/ phriends.

I really hope this happens. I have only seen Phish once, at the Gorge in 1997, but saw the Dead a couple of hundred times from 86-95 and then their various things since Jerry died. My wife and I were listening to Phish the other day and really wishing that they were around since we have such slim pickins these days. To have them come back in some way, and then toss in Phil & Friends, and walla. GREAT Times

This is for marcsmall1: Hey bro, it might be a terrible scene down here in FL, but why don't you stop being so selfish and let us embrace what does come through here in a positive way. I mean, being in Colorado, I'm sure you can't complain too much. Try to put yourself in my shoes, someone who doesn't reap the benefits of stellar touring acts on a regular basis. That would suck huh...yeah. And also, a subjective thought for you... Trey is, by far, of the utmost elite in the world of guitar players. His knowledge of music and his application of that knowledge to the guitar reflects a truely credible player. I'd like to see you or anyone else play/write a song like You Enjoy Myself, The Divided Sky, or Reba just to name a few.

ok - a few comments...first of all, stop whining west coast, especially colorado. Do you know how many good shows you get that don't come any where near the northeast? I refuse to feel sorry for anyone who lives close to redrocks because you're not getting this ONE show.
Also, to all you "phans"...if you think after all this time that any of the guys in phish have been doing it for the money you have no idea what this scene is even about. You're probably annoying jock types who listened when it got cool, were annoying at the shows, and never really understood it anyway. If phish plays again (we can only hope)it will be because they love the music, love playing together, and love their fans....not because trey's last cd didn't sell that great and he needs the money. does anyone honestly think anyone in the band is strapped for cash? stop being so cynical and judgemental enjoy the music!!!!!

Mixed emotions dude: While intellectually I totally understand why Phish broke up and totally respect the guys for having the guts to keep it real and branch out when they felt like they were getting stale. I cut my teeth as a 16 year old escaping what was then a blown out DEAD scene to the 93/94 era Phish shows. If they get back together I’ll be one of the first in line to see em’. Screw it, they were and are a great band. If they never played together again I wouldn’t have any hard feelings, but if they did……..well if they did I’d say cheesecake

I'm rather frazzled with a hint of discontent in regards to how many comments revolving around Phish this string has "inspired". These three weeks of Phil and Friends tour (which will hopefully expand) are about Phil and the astounding musicians who are talented and deadicated enough to participate in the recreation and overall sense of mental revival which can be attained through the family who surrounds you and the mind-enveloping melodic tunes The Grateful Dead first created. This run is not about "who's who" or "Does this mean Phish is closer to reuniting?" This is about real musicians, who love to play for their family, who will ALWAYS be there. Keep layin' it down Phil...See you sooner than later - Forever Grateful...Forever Listenin'...

You gotta try to catch at least one if your close to any stop cause its gonna be; i dont even know but, it should be solid to say the least. tickets are crazy expensive but how much would you pay for phil? the trio? trey? add all that up their not that bad. the shows are gonna be real long too some starting @ like 4:00 and prob. going to at least 11:00. Trey and Phil are sharing the spotlight alternating closing sets, thats pretty cool even though its is phil's tour and every thing. BUT GO MAN IT SHOULD BE THE BEST SHOWS OF THE SUMMER

Two best projects to come out of Phish breakup:

1. Oysterhead
2. Gordon with the Duo

Now you get Gordon with the Duo...WITH TREY. Should be SICK! But I won't be there...gas is too much these days.

I am a little confused about the rating system. Do you want us to rate the story on its importance to the community, its depth and perspective, personal enjoyment?
More info about what the band has planned would make for a better story. This is more like a press release. We need someone inside. We need you all to dive into this story and bring out the facts that we are all drooling to hear.

This is going to be so much fun. Mike with the Duo has been SICK. What type of sound are they aiming for by adding Trey? Scofield is going to add so much depth to Phil's band. What is his motivation for joining Phil? That could be a whole story itself. As always thanks for the accurate, up to date info. What a great summer!!!

This is the best news I've heard since John Mullins rejoined Hookah. It makes me very happy to see that Trey and Mike will be touring together again, even if it is without Page and Fish. I would love to see some Deer Creek GRAB shows added on, but I'm not complaining (there's enough folks doing that already). I'm not sure why people are being so mean to Trey. All he has ever done is make great music, and bring joy to millions of people. How could anyone have a problem with that? I hope the additional GRAB dates are released soon. Has anyone heard anything as to when these dates might be released other than "sometime shortly"?

MR. marcsmall1, you have just displayed your absolute stupidity on any subject relative to the jamband scene and its music. first, you got langerado in FL. anyway sometime you just have to make do. second, trey may not be one of the 25 greatest guitarists of all time, but if he is not, he certainly is very very close. however, he is one the greatest if not the greatest guitarist on the jam scene right now. no arguing. I'm not sure why you are so down on Trey anyway. he is an amazing artist. I'm sure if it was 95-98 right now you would be down on your knees declaring him a god on earth. that last comment goes out to everyone who bashes on trey. i think he has strayed a little bit too far into the mainstream, but that doesn't mean I'm going to turn my back on him and start talking shit. His solo acts arn't for touring. catch a show or two and that's it. those shows will be rockin' hard. that is the way to see trey now...as for the duo/trey/gordo/phil tour. anyone who doesn't think this will b a tour for the ages is not in thier right minds. this is a tour for touring. duo/gordo = ideal opportunity for trey to absolutely incinerate his languedoc in front of all our eyes. he hasn't had a chance to unleash phish style ripping until this combination. something he couldn't do in 70VP and 12 piece. anyone see how sick duo with gordon was? now throw trey into it, wow. oh yea, here's another newsflash: everyone will be going to see the duo/trey/and mike... not phil. so all you haters... stay at home. it will make my expierience 1000xs better. scranton and VT will be insane. 10klf! peace

Well, looks like all the tour rats will congregate in one spot this summer. As long as the good vibes outWEIGH the bad, these shows will be MONUMENTAL! Back a few years,I think from 2000-2003, Phil shows were getting all the crazy lot antics...undercover officers..bottle throwing kids...cops in riot gear after the show...way too much..put a sour taste in my mouth...made me think of Deer Creek '95. That same year, Phish was back again and my friends thought the same crazy negative crap would happen and I reminded them, Phil is still touring, and that shit stays with Phil tour and tured out,I was right. There is nothing wrong with kids half my age running around, just as long as they take responsibility for themselves and the scene...after all there is only so much one can do, it's just a reflection of the times anyway. As for Trey and Mike getting together, this is the only way they can get together and jam without it being the monster machine world of Phish. It got way too crazy and out of control for all of them...the boat they once were sailing together was now a ship with way too many rooms and captains at the helm.

Why does everyone always want to evaluate Trey? The reason guys like trey are great is because they play differently from anybody else, they have their own sound, not because they are better or worse. People like trey and jerry and i think herring too all fit into the category of having their own style and not really being comparable, Just like Hendrix and Page, once you get to that point it's really useless to try comparing any more. btw HELL YEAH nashville and Atlanta! Sorry west-coasters this must really be a bummer but I can't help being excited here in the southeast

I'm responding to the whole Trey is the best/worst/there are better out there discussion going on--sure, he's maybe not as technically good as Warren, I mean he can't play the blues as well; and there are plenty of other people mentioned who are great; but, when it comes to sheer improv and tight ass, mind melting jams that go somewhere and are not just the occasional moments of brilliance built around licks and riffs you get with everyone else, I'd say Trey's up there in the Bar None area...and coupled with Gordo, and the duo! I only he wish they was coming out west.

Why is there so much negativity on this website. Almost every announcement is followed with at least a few posts of people hating on whatever the announcement was about. I always thought the hippy/jamband community represented things like love, acceptance of others, music, being non-judgmental, positive thinking, etc. Most of the people I meet at shows and fests embody these positive ideas but looking at people's comments on this website SOME of you guys sound just as judgmental as the frat boys I always hear you guys complain about. SOME of you claim this as your scene and try and exclude anybody you don't think fits, but it isn't your scene. It's for anyone who wants to be a part of it. Even if they don't dress like you, act like you, or listen to the same things as you. This shit was founded by the Dead based on love, music, and experimentation but some of you kids don't seem to understand and I doubt you ever will. If some kid goes to see Panic or Phish or whoever for the first time all that matters is that he's there and that's it. So stop being so judgmental, remember what Jesus would do, and always pass the blunt to the nigga on the left cause maybe they want to hit it too.

Let's see if Phil tries out one of Osby's tunes since Scofield is there to help out. Osby uses beautiful and melodies and can get far out at times. He can totally deconstruct a song. He bands also play song->song->song many times. I hope Osby sits in with G.R.A.B.

wilson99.... I don't mean to sound agressive or offensive, but what you claim is simply absurd. Yes, Fishman is definately a great drummer, hands down. Still, I think you are forgetting to acknowledge that Billy is an incredibly skillful, dynamic, and trained jazz drummer. He can just as easily hold his own up against Fishman.... But to compare Jerry and Trey is to compare apples and oranges. Jerry, with influences rangining from bluegrass, to rock, to jazz and beyond played a completely different sport, if you will, than Trey. Trey comes from a school of composition and arranging with a healthy background in jazz and a strong influence of fusion-esque rock. You can't knock Michael Jordan for giving it a shot playing minor league baseball. His real claim to talent and skill recognition was in the NBA. So don't knock Trey for not being time's regurgitation of Jerry. Trey is a genious in his own realm. At least appreciate what he has done for he does.

You dont like Trey? dont go see him.Top 100 ,top 50,top 25 ..who cares..Trey Anastasio is one of the most important American Musicians of the past 20yrs.Im not a big Who fan..But still can appreciate that it consisted of a legitamit rock icon(Townsend) and a ridiculously solid rythm section(moon and Entwhistle). There is a reason why artists like Herbie Hancock,George Clinton,Stuart Copeland,
Les Claypool,Phil Lesh, etc want to collaborate with him...and why we're all sitting at home on our PC's talking trash.Because the man has the vision, energy, and talent of a musical prophet....while most people leaving these shortsighted statements dont even know what a triad is ....

personaly im pumped abouthe tour, i know no one can ever replace Fishman and Paige, but they seem to be dealing with their own demons right now and i wish them (paige especially) the best and hopefully Phish will again play somewhere, personally i wont be there IT was It for me, when Gordo and Trey have to stop and talk and figure out what they are going to play next instead of jamming into a pimp ass song, ive seen them at their best and everything else just let me down, not that its still not great just a personal let down. now with Russo and Benevento (two of the best musicians out there and great chemistry too) im excited to see this combo, plus Russo looks like Treys twin. i bet its the shit, and if paige and Fishman care so much, get clean and put Phish back for a few shows, you know thats what trey wants anyway.

I hate to be this way towards fans of the music i love but this makes me sick. I firmly believe trey is past his prime and to any hardcore not just phish fan but music lover it is as clear as night and day. Forget about phish in 98 99 think phish in 93 or 95. But i guess that was before it was cool to be in to phish. I guess what i'm tring to get to is get past the hype and get down to the music. Forget about what was and listen to what is. If the music is great I'll admit its great but you can't be living in the past thinking because its trey and gordon that it will be this amazing musical experience.

What a great adventure? Great tour. Big money!!!! Nostalgia baby! Lots of good music. Its good to see such a allstar bunch of musicians playing together. Props to them. I Love the Dead, love Phish, seen them both a bunch. It will be great to hear them jam together.

However, to the die hard Phish fans, this is usually a very positive website, except when the name Phish is invoked. In fact most of the negativity on this site is exclusively in comment sections pertaining to Trey or Phish. Go to some other show reviews and see for yourself. The fans of most bands can handle a little criticism without crying "hater" or some other pathetic crap. What this tells me is that the "haters" are actually the ones who appreciate the music, even Phish's music, and are not just idol worshiping teenagers. Phish was just a band, and a damn good one. But the celebrity worship is pretty weak. You sound like a bunch of pre-adolesent girls lining up for Brittney Spears. Maybe thats why people feel obligated to put forth an alternative to your shining comments.

Would people complain about Jerry? Hell yes. No band ever had more critical fans than the Grateful Dead. People complained when Jerry was not stellar. Deadheads skewered Bobby constantly.

Yet, I have heard more critisism of Jerry coming from Phish fans than anyone else. I have heard Phish fans call WSP and their fans rednecks. The thing is Deadheads don't care if you like Jerry. Spreadheads don't care if east coast frat boys with dreadlocks like the band or not. Truth stands on its own merits. The music speaks for itself. Have you ever heard fans of any other band calling fans "haters" cause they don't like the band? Why is that?

I have lost all respect for the Phan base, but I still have respect for the musicians. All of these musicians are great and it is not a competition. When you wonder why others don't get it, or why Phish can't tour anymore, or why people are negative about Phish. Its not the music, look in the mirror.

Enjoy the show I'm sure the music will be fantastic. Here on the west coast there are plenty of great shows, and unless Warren is singing with Phil, I'll pass.

Now that Bonnaroo's over, there's suddenly some buzz about a "special guest" sitting in with Mike Gordon & Benevento Duo at their upcoming Asheville show. Anybody else think it's Trey?

an observation...the asheville civic center holds a good number of people. phil & friends and mike & the duo might be the best tour of the summer on the east coast. so how, in a heady town like asheville, can a founding member of the entire jamband genre not sell out a venue of maybe 6,000-7,000? i don't get it, man. phil's show was INCREDIBLE, and there were maybe 1500 people there to see it. oh well. If you live in asheville, and you didn't go see this show, you missed out. Next time, pony up the $46 and go get your face melted like none of these bullshit trancejambands can possibly do. sts9 or bisco can't match a good ol' phil lesh space jam.

i was at the show in raleigh the other nite and let me tell you i am very disappointed in this new band. trey is trying to take the things that made phish greast and transform it into trey band. this new group is a joke. ahahahahah, stop doing coke trey.

I was at the Raleigh show and I was exremely dissapointed. The only reason these guys get any attention is becase of the fact that they were half of Phish. As for the duo, I have never heard more uninspired, chaotic noise ever. It was like really obnoxious techno music. And to top it all off, they really came across as being somewhat cocky. C'mon guys, the only reason anyone knows who you are is because of Trey so let it rest.

The combo of Trey, Mike, and the duo, absolute rubbish. It was like Frankenphish. While their material wasn't techno wanking like the duo, it was still really bad. The songs were, again, uninspired and had no life to them. There was nothing that made me feel anything other than the fact that there were 4 guys up on a stage just wanking around and pissing in everyone's ears. The young kids seemed to be really digging it but I literally saw people leaving by the droves two songs into their set.

Trey and Mike will always be just leftover Phish. Nuff said.

HOLY FARKENSHNIT! People can be so crazy. I am going to speak by pure speculation and personal opinion here. Phish disbanding good move....unfortunate, but good. Sucks to see the road drone followers, programmed to a frenzy for drugs and money. Great to see people who really enjoy the tunes no matter how they party while at a show. Lordy lordy please save the drainbow monkeys that insane with dope slangin mentality.

Its seems to me that the foursome loves not only music but the music they created as Phish to much to never play in that format again. It was amazing seeing the Duo & Gordo play phish songs. Unfortunately Trey isn't up for that, which is why I'm not so interested in their tour right now. But if they came to my town and the tickets weren't so damn expensive(probably because of Trey) I would defintely go. And I would have a damn good time and not bitch about a damn thing. And so what Fishman is better, Russo is still astounding. Quit comparing and complaining, don't hate..appreciate! Take it for what its worth and be greatful

So, why do they overlook Montana? They want everyone involved in "the scene", yet they deprive us of the goods. Montanans wants "the goods", yet we are skipped time-and-time again. We have the capacity for these "huge" acts (as one may consider these guys and as we have had in the past= WSP, Harper, ect..). We definetly get by with what we grow in MT. We love our home-grown music. And we totally get down w/ the big bands, but who couldn't use a vacation trip to MT? Get with it!- it's a perfect stop to rip an acoustic trip.
Maybe it's better this way. "The last best place" cause we can--peace and love

I think it is kind of funny how many people who have never picked up a guitar pick or a pair of drum sticks can judge how "good" an artist is. As a drummer, joe russo is just as talented as john fishman. the only thing he lacks is stage presence.
