With his crystal-clear singing voice and vibrant, classically-inspired playing, José González has been hailed as one of today's most remarkable new artists - testament to the irrefutable power of one man and a guitar. Veneer - the Swedish tunesmith's acclaimed Mute Records debut (just reissued on April 4) - captures his magical sound in its purest state, simply beautiful and beautifully simple. González just spent a triumphant two weeks in the States during which he performed seven times at SXSW, played six sold-out shows (three in New York, two in L.A., one in San Francisco) as well as several sold out shows opening for The Books in Boston, Philadelphia and New York. To cap off this American journey, he performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on March 29. He kicks off the upcoming tour with a performance on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic hosted by Nic Harcourt on June 15th.
Gonzalez will be touring with one of today's most original and evocative artists, Argentinean singer / songwriter Juana Molina and the London-based duo of Galia Durant and Carim Clasmann, known professionally as Psapp.
