Band of Horses are a Indie Rock band, and the album is produced by my favorite produce, Phil Ek (The Shins, Built to Spill, Dios (Malos)and 764-Hero). The album is fantastic but I am not sure if someone who strickly listen to Jambands is going to enjoy this. But I will say if you like MMJ, you probably will love this album. Can't wait to see them. Missed the last tour with Iron & Wine.

As the Editor I can assure you this had nothing to do with money or ads... it has to do with a remarkable album that we can't stop listening to. And furthermore, I feel bad for anyone who doesn't check out SubPop's catalogue... and shit My Morning Jacket is another band we love at JamBase (their last album was our overwhelming choice for best record of 2005), and what the hell is a Jam Band anyway? Actually, scrap that, we don't care... we just like music. Call it what you want, if we dig it, we're gonna tell people.

Kayce is right. Good music is good music. And this album is all about good music. And I also agree with antelope. I started seeing Phish when I was 14, now 27, and I have to say that seeing jambands isn't what it used to be. In fact the only jambands I go see would be mmw, greyboy allstars and the meters. But you have to be a lot more open. I think that there has never been this much good music being put out and 95% aren't jambands.

as someone who lives in seattle and has seen this band( and knows em too oddly enough)... i do know how much this album is rocking somepeoples worlds..... but thier live show is.... well not that great really..... i understand everyone(including me and my death cab and iron and wine and clap your hands and say yeah loving ass) has bigger taste than just "jam bands" and that is awsome and great, but when did "jam"base go so indie/emo-rock on us? i used to come to this website for info on a specific genre with great ease and i feel that since broadening so far into all kinds of music it is making this website really cluttered and hard to use..... that said..... band of horses new album is great, go buy it and support them cuz they are super nice guys, but go see em live if you want to find out what a lot of these newer bands are all about, its a totally different thing... and isnt a lot of the reason most of us come to jambase because we all started out diggin the live experience of music more than the studio albums?

I knew this little tiff was verging on a climax. This may be repetitive but Good Music is Good Music. Hell, I even like some kinda bad music. I love the new direction. I love jambands, whatever they are, and I love the new school pyschedelic noise even more.

JC Tibbitts you made a very interesting comment about jambands decline, something must be done, like a save the wales campaign
