Tea Leaf Green
"Got a little bit of soul / Got a little bit of rock n' roll in my bones." Thus opens Taught to be Proud, the new studio album from San Francisco's bustling Tea Leaf Green, a band of youthful gypsies with an abundance of both rock & soul. You can feel it in their hair-raising live performances and you can hear it in the headlong rush of their latest release. Conjuring the spirit of '70s Bob Dylan, The Faces, and early Elton John, Tea Leaf Green takes classic sounds and reminds us exactly why we lifted our lighters in the air in the first place.

The album, released in November '05 on Reincarnate, comes on the heels of an epic year of growth for TLG. The band's mid-afternoon Bonnaroo set attracted an estimated crowd of 10,000 people, and the buzz has been swelling ever since. Recently, the band has sold out shows in Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, and others.

Don't miss Tea Leaf Green's righteous live rock show.

Great to see these guys are getting some kind reviews and that folks are liking what they do. Their shows are highly contagious; go check them out and you'll get the TLG bug for sure. With Railraod Earth and New Monsoon both selling out (or close to) their recent Fillmore debuts it would be killer to see TLG do the same. See y'all at the FEEL-MORE!!!

I heard a little bit about TLG here and there but was pretty unfamiliar with their music. After I read this article on Monday I decided to check them out in State College last night and I was really impressed by what they had to offer. They played hard with a lot of energy and the crowd was definitly into it. The article describes them as a "righteous live rock show" and thats exactly what it was. Check them out, I will again.
