Inspired by the timeless electro-funk-jazz of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, and already showing quite a propensity for odd-
metered, pulsating, booty-friendly beats, are Seattle's very own Rockin' Teenage Combo. The three members of RTC, Dara Quinn on Fender Rhodes and Nord Lead, Paul Kemmish on acoustic & electric basses, and Jason McGerr on drums and percussion, will come together every Monday at the 700 Club for some explosive, GROOVE-heavy explorations. This exciting series of evenings (set to run thru at least the end of February!) will be appropriately titled *THRUST* - in memory of Herbie's classic 1974 funk-jazz LP, and surely further strengthen RTC's solid reputation as an always adventurous live band.
*THRUST* will feature all 3 members of RTC plus frequent "special guest" players - such as saxophonist Jessica Lurie of the Living Daylights and percussionist Mike Dillon of Critters Buggin and HairyApesBMX. Check it out on Mondays at 9:30 at the 700 Club (700 Virginia St., Seattle) starting January 8, 2001.
