The Disco Biscuits
Philadelphia-based band The Disco Biscuits are gearing up for the release of their double live album The Wind at Four to Fly to be released on SCI Fidelity Records on April 18. The band has returned to being a quartet with the addition of their new drummer Allen Aucoin. The auditioning process was lengthy but they found that Aucoin jumped straight in, meshing with the Biscuits' in the groove, solid feeling called BISCO.

The Disco Biscuits are back in fine form after the departure of Sam Altman and a hiatus and are ready to greet the New Year with cross country touring and a wildly diverse live album. The first leg of the tour takes the band to the South East U.S. with many more dates to be announced in the near future.

2006 marks The Disco Biscuits eleventh year of rocking out in their unique musical smorgasbord style which fuses rock, electronic and classical music. The band met at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 and started off with frat gigs but made the quick switch to the club scene. Their eclectic live shows gained them a rabid following, making them leaders in the jam and groove scene. Don't miss the new incarnation of The Disco Biscuits.

Jon Gutwillig - guitar, vocals
Marc Brownstein - bass
Aron Magner - keyboards
Allen Aucoin - drums

Bisco is the next Super Acid Band. they will inherit the PHISH DEAD MANTLE. People misunderstand them, but they were mentored by phil and may have the best guitar bass combo playing today. YAHOO! BRING ON THE BISCO! YIPPEE!

now i like the biscuits and all but bigfro, "best guitar and bass combo"????? I have never heard a guitarist flub so many chords in my life. If the biscuits kept gutwillig as a songwriter and found an interesting guitarist who actually can repeat lines without screwing up, then maybe they might be the next "phish", but since they already sound like phish with a little bit of breakbeats, they probably won't be taking that mantle anytime soon. Guitarists of the world unite, John Gutwillig is not good

I just saw Bisco at the Fillmore in Denver last weekend and it kicked major booty. I've been one to doubt them in the past, but they've obviously been practicing and they have their "A" game on. Each member tore it up especially Barber and Allen. It was a non stop dance fest. Barber is a great guitar player. Don't listen to the past post. Holla for Wakarusa!! No one will ever be the next Phish though. Sorry, but that impossible. On the other hand, Bisco at the Fillmore was one of the best that I've seen since Vegoose.

Some people just love to hate the Bisco.

Gutwillig is an amazing guitarist. Bisco does NOT sound like Phish with breakbeats thats silly. Judging by dedhead's nick im sure he's heard Jerry flub plenty of times before and if not than you dont listen to enough dead. Anyone who says Gutwillig is a no good guitarist is in my opinion either loving to hate the Bisco or just plain not listening.

People also need to get over this "next Phish" thing, just listen to jambase, go see live music, period.

Alright I wasn't gonna do it but no bashing barber. Barber is by no means the best guitar player out there, but he is the best and only guitar for the biscuits. I honestly disliked biscuits for a long time. I still think they can't sing. Barber's unique style and the singing grew on me though. Its the whole experience seeing them live that is bisco. You realize ohh there supposed to sound like that. Oh my brain was supposed to melt. And I didn't like phish at first either, saw phish a bunch and honestly, bring em back and i'll still go see the biscuits. Bisco is just begining.

alright I admit. I love to hate. I also hate to love. Didn't quite think it out and mean to offend so deeply. I was simply overwhelmed by the "best bass and guitar" quote and I lost myself. And to clear things up, I do not care about Phish, Jerry sucked after 87, and John Gutwillig still screws up his own songs too much for me to really care about them sometimes

Hell yeah, Bisco at the Rox baby. Finally some recognition for Wilmington, and 4 more NC shows as well... Time to blow some southern minds.
