Blue Bear School of Music, San Francisco's own non-profit "School of Rock" since 1971, is holding its first annual Music for Youth Benefit Concert Saturday, February 4th from 7pm-2am at The Independent, (www.theindependentsf.com) in San Francisco. All proceeds will benefit Blue Bear School's youth music programs including scholarships, sliding scale tuition for low income students, and development of after school youth programs for S.F. public schools.
The show features blues guitar virtuoso Robben Ford, with Grammy nominated songwriter Bonnie Hayes and her band, Kevin Hayes & Jim Pugh from The Robert Cray Band, Vicki Randle from The Tonight Show Band and other special guests. The show will also feature two Blue Bear youth bands, and a Soul/R&B dance party 'til late featuring the absolute best in the Bay Area (and Blue Bear Alumni)-Pride and Joy.
This party will feature desserts by Grand Café, Blue Bear friends and sponsors KFOG, Dolby Corporation, San Francisco Magazine, Provident Financial Management, Vintage 415, Kochis Fitz Wealth Management, Bernstein Investment Research & Management and a silent auction including tickets to The Tonight Show, a week long music camp, signed guitars by Bonnie Raitt and Green Day, and lots of other cool items including spa/massage packages, dinners, getaways, fine wine and rock memorabilia. Our fiends at Asqew Grill will be providing tasty appetizers for VIP ticket holders.
