From aclfestival.com
"Just like you, we are keeping a very close watch on the weather and are being advised by meteorologists. We do expect some rain on Saturday, so be sure to bring an umbrella and wear your rain gear.
If weather conditions appear to present any kind of danger to fans, musicians or crew, we are prepared to make the necessary adjustments to maintain safety. Until then, the Festival is on, rain or shine. Check aclfestival.com for updates."
Also, in addition to the 130 bands playing on 8 stages at Zilker Park this weekend, Austin City Limits will be taping 4 episodes at their studio on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin.
Taping Schedule:
Saturday
8:00 PM - What Made Milwaukee Famous
9:15 PM - Franz Ferdinand
Monday
2:00 PM - Blues Traveler
9:00 PM - Widespread Panic
Tickets are free, but they're not easy. The following ticket information was taken from the Austin City Limits website:
There are four steps to obtain free Austin City Limits tickets.
1. Please call the KLRU Hotline at (512) 475-9077.
2. Listen carefully to the message and find out the artist, taping date, time and which radio station(s) to listen to for the ticket distribution announcement.
3. Listen closely to that radio station one to two working days before the taping for a ticket distribution announcement. This announcement will state the location of the ticket giveaway.
4. When you hear the announcement, go immediately to the location of the distribution to pick up the tickets. Tickets go *very quickly*, sometimes within five minutes of the announced giveaway time.
The free tickets are distributed by KLRU staff on a first-come, first-served basis. Two tickets per person are allowed. A ticket does NOT guarantee admission to a taping. KLRU will admit as many ticket holders as our capacity limit allows. The capacity limit is set by the State Fire Marshall and is strictly enforced. In order to be assured of a full house for the taping, KLRU distributes tickets in excess of our capacity limit to account for "no-shows."
If the ticket distribution is at KLRU, the station is located in Communication Building "B" at the corner of Dean Keeton (26th Street) and Guadalupe on the University of Texas campus.
