MUSIC LEGEND TO PERFORM CHICAGO SHOW FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

By Joey Pittman
New York, N.Y. – Steve Winwood and House of Blues announce their plans for a concert to benefit hurricane relief. Tickets for the music legend's show in Chicago at House of Blues on October 8th will go toward American Red Cross in support of the organization's efforts toward assisting victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Tickets for this show are $60 and will go on sale Saturday, September 10th through Ticketmaster (312.559.1212 or via www.ticketmaster.com) and House of Blues by (312.923.2000 or via www.HOB.com)

Steve Winwood says, "New Orleans has always been dear to my family and to me. It is a city with a rich heritage and triumphant spirit -- from its architecture and cuisine to its musical legacy and kind-hearted citizens. My heart is with all who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina's devastation. It is my hope, though, that through generosity we can help the survivors and this great city get back on their feet. We chose House of Blues Chicago for this benefit as a tribute to all the great music and good times we have experienced at House of Blues New Orleans, as well as Tipitina's and Maple Leaf Bar. God bless them and may they return to form as soon as possible."

Michael Yerke, Talent Buyer for Chicago House of Blues adds, "For House of Blues, the tragedy strikes a little closer to home as we have a venue down there, and friends and employees who work there. Many of them don't have a place to live right now. When Steve called to ask us if we would participate with him we immediately said yes, as we are looking to do anything and everything we can to assist the victims of this disaster. It's an honor to be doing this with an artist of the stature of Steve Winwood, whom we love so much."

BONERAMA HITS ROAD FOR HURRICANE RELIEF

Bonerama
The legendary five trombone funk of New Orleans supergroup, Bonerama, hits the road in the month of September on a mission of relief and healing. The band that Rolling Stone calls "the ultimate in brass balls" has become a New Orleans musical institution over the past few years. Led by musical visionary Mark Mullins (a member of Harry Connick Jr.'s big band), Bonerama has wowed packed houses all over their country with their brand of thick heavy funk, and the now famous blitzkrieg of "five trombone" horn arrangements.

Like many New Orleans musical acts, Bonerama now faces their biggest challenge to date. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the bands' homes and offices, leaving them homeless with the rest of the residents of New Orleans. True to the very spirit of New Orleans and its culture, Bonerama will be playing a string of East Coast shows with part of the show proceeds going to benefit survivors of this cataclysmic disaster.

This is a story of truly overcoming adversity. Many years down the line, New Orleans may be built up again, but it will be much harder to find the real NOLA on the surface. The true heart of the city exists in the minds and souls of the musicians and the people that helped to bring their sound to fruition, the people of New Orleans. Please come down to the show and introduce yourself to the band. They have a lot to say, and while you are there you can bear witness to a musical act that is defined by New Orleans, a city that will never be truly lost as long as its troubadours fight to stay on the world's stages. This is a story of music as passion and music as life. A story that must be told!

Please note: Due to the chaos and disarray of the New Orleans disaster, the band's website and other time relevant information is not included nor updated on their website. It has been difficult communicating with the band as they have truly lost everything, including their administrative offices. Please help us raise awareness of the situation this band is in: as they cannot do it themselves. Many different relief organizations will be attending these shows as well as many large national news agencies.
