Steve Kimock by Tobin Voggesser
Hailed as one of today's greatest living guitar players, Steve Kimock releases his long anticipated studio album, Eudemonic, on August 23, 2005 (SCI Fidelity Records). Together with 10-time Grammy winning drummer and composer Rodney Holmes, Eudemonic masterfully displays Kimock's uncanny ability to balance passion and power with soaring grace. Its nine flawlessly produced original compositions highlight Kimock's dynamic playing, technical ingenuity, and impeccable sonic expression. Forty plus years into a rich and vibrant musical career, Steve Kimock's Eudemonic confirms: this is the stuff that musical legends are made of.

Eudemonic is SKB's debut album; a release five years in the making and highly anticipated by critic and fans. Kimock is that much of a perfectionist, and feedback so far suggests the final result is well worth the wait.

The Steve Kimock Band will tour this fall in support of Eudemonic, and like their studio work, the band's live show is bold, inventive, and dynamic. As always, Kimock and Holmes have hand-picked a group of ace musicians, and the cast will rotate slightly - promising fresh material and inspired interpretations.

Joining SKB for August's west coast run is old friend Reed Mathis on bass, David Nelson Band keyboardist extraordinaire Mookie Siegel, and Mitch "Moose" Stein on guitar.

I caught SKB in Philly recently and thought the show was great. They are on my new list of jambands to see and will travel for. I'm looking forward to their new album and tour(With Reid Mathis!!!). There was a little tease in the article talking about Rodney winning 10 grammys. I guess I'll have to check that out on google. Great headsup about the tour!!

Please do not, I repeat NOT "pair up" Steve Kimock's music with JAMBAND. Yes, I know where I'm at, writing this post.
But nothing could be farther from the truth relative to Steve's music. End of story.

Jamband or not, this show is NOT to be missed.
Rodney Holmes is simply the best Drummer you will see all summer. And Kimock is no slouch either. The fact is , they DO jam with the best of them..
