Music has always been a way for one to share a bit of themselves with others. Whether it be the musician or the listener, we all interpret the words and music differently, yet share in the experience. On November 18th at The Wetlands in New York City, The Slip invite you to share with them, Actual
Proof and the Drepung Gomang Monks in what is sure to be a unique musical and emotional experience.
The cosmic opener for this magical evening will be Actual
Proof. Their innovative and soulful sound will pave the road for an evening of bliss. Read the JamBase Featured Band article, Actual Proof is the Music For Now for more on this enlightening group.
Next, on a tour to share the compassion and wisdom of the ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture with North Americans, the Drepung Gomang Monks will enlighten your musical appreciation with their music, prayer and multiphonic singing. A portion of this evenings proceeds will go to benefit the Gomang Monastery, in need of funds to ensure its survival. The monastery, in South India, houses, feeds and educates anyone wishing to study higher learning at this monastic center, including orphans and refugees fleeing Chinese occupied Tibet. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Finally, allow yourself to reflect on your teachings as The Slip guide you on
your journey with two full sets of musical elegance. Since the release of their new CD titled Does, The Slip have been walking the path of musical truth that extends beyond space and time. Their music plants itself like a seed within your soul and blooms from within note by passionate note.
